So I was married in the Philippines in 2013.  My wife divorced me 2 years ago. I am looking for an attorney to file a RECOGNITION OF

FOREIGN DIVORCE.  I found one in Manila but he wants 50k php as a retainer.  That sounds a little pricey to me. Also, is the filing to be

done in a regional court and would it be better to find an attorney in Cebu where we were married? Does anyone know of an attorney that is

to be trusted?  Please advise. Mahalo

I don't know much about recognition of foreign divorce, but I am currently looking for a Filipino attorney to file recognition of foreign adoption and so far, I have been quoted nearly 5 times the figures you are mentioning. I wouldn't mind having that lawyer's details.

I'm going back to the Philippines in August.  I hope to find an attorney on the trip.  I am just very uncomfortable hiring an attorney on-line. Too many scammers. I was hoping someone could make a recommendation for a reliable attorney.  Good luck in your search.

In the past few weeks I have made my mind up to move to the Philippines what with how America is falling apart.

Okay so I posted this in the Philippines section and really didn't get an answer.  So here we go again. I was married in Lapu Lapu in 2013.  My filipina left me 2 years ago.

I want to get my US divorce recognized by the Philippines. Does anyone have recommendations for an attorney and do I need an attorney in Cebu to file with the

regional court there?  Any recommendations for attorneys for this?
