Hi everyone and thank you for taking the time to read a noobie thread.

I am American, she is Russian. we have lived together for more then a year in Saint Petersburg. We feel its time to move back to the states, and marry. So, with that said, what would be the fastist way to go about this? Ask for a k1 and possible wait 6 moths (more or less) for her to be able to come to her new home, or marry her here in Russia and ask if the US Embassy can do a Direct Consular Filing?

any and all help, tia

Before filing or juming into anything else check on the timelines on how long for a K1 petition in Russia. Consider also checking on the website if there is a DCF for I-130 (spousal petition) in the embassy where you are filing before getting married.

check on this info: :)Rome district office

Yes yes yes!!!

Depends on what visa *you* are living in Russia on. Also, you'll file in Moscow, not Rome. Look at USCIS.gov under Field Offices and follow to Moscow.

The advantages of DCF over K-1 are huge. Your main challenge might be showing a US domicile (home, work etc) and completing an I-864, so have a look at that early on.
