Entered U.S with IR1 visa, no sign of green card.

I payed 220$ for permanent resident card (USCIS immigrant fee) on February 1, 2023. Entered U.S few days after on February 4, 2023 through JFK airport and got stamp with Alien number on my passport. It’s been 108 days since I entered and there is no update on my green card. The status as of today is: “Immigrant Visa fee Payment received.” I’m getting a bit worried and wondering how long does it take to say “Card is being produced?”

here are important notes: When I entered I wasn’t referred to secondary inspection, which was odd because my two children who entered previously were taken to a room where they verified the address to send green card and social security which they received few years ago. I asked the officer for it but she said it wasn’t necessary. Well, after one month of entry, I still didn’t had my social security card and went to their office where I found out that I wasn’t even in a system. (I am 100% sure I indicated on DS-260 to share information with social security office) I fixed the social security situation and got my card two weeks later. Now I’m worried about green card, is this wait time normal? It says it shouldn’t take more than 90 days but I know it’s USCIS, how should I go about this situation?

Father in law came in November and it took 148 days for his card

Mother in law came in April and it took 42 days.

Seems to be all over the place.

Since you able to get an SSN, this means CBP properly processed your immigration visa.  You have a temporary I-551 in the form of your stamped immigration visa. There is nothing for you to do until 30 days before your I-551 expires:

* File I-90 to get a free gc. Will take 2 years.

* After you get your I-90 receipt, use the process in https://www.uscis.gov/newsroom/alerts/uscis-announces-additional-mail-delivery-process-for-receiving-adit-stamp to get another I-551 stamp. You will have to do this every year until you get are gc or ….

* 3 years less 90 days after POE file N-400 to become a citizen. Some people become citizens without ever seeing a gc; USCIS / USPS are that dysfunctional

Mine took 130+ days from POE to be delivered.  You may try filing a USCIS service request for Non-Delivery of Card to try to nudge your case along, but don't get your hopes up.  I don't think it helped my case, but it did give me some peace of mind having sent a reminder in writing.

I will keep waiting patiently.

Please return here to let us all know when it arrives.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

It can be maddening trying to figure it out.  Generally I see those that are packet less (CCD notation on Visa) and pay before entering do get their cards faster - but not always.
