Mini-Dave got his first haircut, years ago, after PRG got one too many comments about our cute little girl. And pretty much makes sure he gets his hair cut every month (since Covid, she has done mine too).

Nephew-Dave (who's in his last year of middle school, IIRC) has very long hair; PRG always tells me whenever we see him (though back in our hotel or whatever and far from sister-Dave) that she'd never let her son keep his hair that long ...

Yes Samsung was a dud. So was GE went through 5 of those from Costco, finally told them to forget it is and give me back my money.

If you have an older fridge keep it until you can no longer get parts for it. They sure are not making them like they used to.

I'm surprised the Teck told you LG as a second. They are just as bad as Samsung, they use the same parts.

Thrilling Friday-on-Saturday non-GS/ES report, see man:

Met neighbor & fence-repairman at o'dark-Many, helped by caffeine pill we man.

Fence hombre is from Guatemala, Guatemalteco man.

We talked to him a little in Spanish, "your Spanish is very good, si man" said he man, si man.

Breakfast was a greenish banana, ingest and diet we man.

Fence demolition started, big yard man.

It began to monsoon, soaked Guatemaltecos man.

They hauled it all off, bye man.

Job should be finished on Sunday, weather permitting man.

We went GS/ES-ing, si man.

The GS (annual sale in church hall) was highly underpopulated, perhaps the rain man.

We browsed unhurriedly/uncrowdedly, nice in that venue man.

Most of that purchase was new nightshirts for Mini-B., outgrown old ones wee man man.

Groceried for last of Mama T-B.'s desired vittles, must use coupon for senior she man man.

Miu highly demanding upon our exhausted return to the casa, treat/lunch me Daddy man.

Lunch (at Many p.m.) was onebag of nuked mixed vegetables, ingest and diet we man.

Called Mama T-B. to deliver stuff, agree senior she man.

Hurt ourself carrying it up one stairflight, elevator still out of order man.  :ranting:

Mama T-B. generally appreciative, scrutinize all store receipts senior she man.

Mama T-B. then sat us down for the required lecture on multiple topics, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

Kept us there for 2 hours, :girlwerewolf2xn:  :bonk:  man.

Mama T-B. does think that we look a little skinnier, at least there's that man.

Returned to casa and demanding miu, feed us another lunch Daddy man.

Din-din was Modified Tuna Glop, ingest and diet we man.

Long-overdue hourlong siesta thereafter, zzz we man.

Warshered/baked/stowed Mini-B.'s new threads, si man.

He & ex-Mrs.-T-B. greatly enjoying latter's hometown in Ecu, homesick therefor we man.  :(

Ex-Mrs.-T-B. says she's "still negotiating" with Mini-B. re his haircut, just do it man.  :ranting:

We have unenthusiastically itineraried 2 GSs for Saturday, might/might not go man.

Miu is again lobbying for attention, needy miu man.

No party with the rubias tonight, too exhausted we man.

And that was/is our thrilling Friday, report we man.

Just about 3 weeks ago we had an issue with our refrigerator.  It's a French door fridge and the wife apparently didn't close one door all the way.  Got up in the morning and heard a lot of noise from the fridge.  Sounded like the compressor was working really hard, and it was loud.  Talked with a friend that has an ac and appliance repair business and he thought it was freezing up and told me to unplug it for about 12 hours.  Did that but nothing changed.  Figured it would need a new compressor, but decided not to put that kind of money into an 8 year old Whirlpool (more about that in a bit) so very quickly ordered a new one from Costco that could be delivered in 3 days.  Next morning I got up and noticed the fridge was quiet again and cooling fine.  I hoped that by the time we returned from work it would be loud again to make me feel better about already ordering a new one.  Nope, it was perfect when we returned home.  Oh well, at least we will have a new, $1600 fridge.  had to go to Lowes that night so I looked at fridges to see what I had ordered, another Whirlpool essentially the same as we had except they changed the ice maker and I hated the useless narrow shelves now on the door.  Liked the similar LG better, but we had a bad experience with an LG washer.  What to do?

Discovered the ice maker in our fridge was no longer working and checked the error codes.  Seems that was the source of our original problem.  Ordered a new ice maker for $80 and installed it last weekend.  Everything is great now.

When we built this house 24 years ago it came with builder grade GE appliances, and maybe they were one step up from builder grade.  The dish washer was garbage and I replaced that after one year.  Never liked the side by side fridge.  Freezer side was too narrow, and the ice maker was horrible.  When we decided to replace it I checked Consumer Reports and they said the French door Samsung was the best, and that's what I bought.  BIG mistake.  Just after the warranty expired it died.  Internal refrigerant leak and was advised to just by a new fridge.  Went with the Whirlpool even though it wasn't top rated by Consumer Reports but it is made in the US and parts are easy to get.  No real complaints.  Seems like most manufacturers have trouble with ice makers.  Thankfully it was easy to fix even with the "in the door" ice and water.

We had a samsung side by side when we first moved here. It was one thing after the other. But we were told it was the economy fridge. So we bought another Samsung but French door. I loved it, it was huge which we needed. But then the middle drawer managed to cut the wire. I googled it and came across a FB group. I called Samsung and they agreed to a free repair. Turned out to be a big issue with Samsung. The FB group advised to put in a thermometer into the fridge. Turned out it wasn't keeping temperature and was the issue with my stomach trouble all those years between both fridges. I had so many tests, scopes and bloodwork. I called my GI specialist and told him about the fridge. Right away he told me to stop using it. After about two weeks of not using it all my stomach issues went away. It was out of warranty but thanks to the FB group I was able to fight samsung and got all my money back.

I wanted another French door and why I went through 5 GE's with Costco. I gave them a chance thinking maybe it was due to covid and the chip shortage. But even when the last one was finally delivered without being busted up it did not keep temperature either. I think it has something to do with the ice makers being inside the fridge. If it was in the ceiling of the fridge it would have been better but that model didn't come in the size I wanted.

So here we are with a Whirlpool side by side and not once does my alarm go off for bad temperatures. /knocks on wood.

I should have said that Costco was great and there was no problem cancelling the order.  I thought I had cancelled but they arrived to deliver the fridge.  I said "you must not have gotten the message...."  They said "no problem.  We'll take care of it."  And that was it.
