There were a decent number of unattended buckets of candy around us (including at our place; as PRG and I were both accompanying mini-Dave).

If we were somewhere that got more than a handful of trick or treaters, though, and I were handing out in person ... teenagers need to be in costume or accompanying costumed younger siblings to get candy.

He insisted on snacking on Oreos, big mistake man.

He stayed up till standard-time midnight, over-sugar-buzzed wee man.

We got all the clocks turned back, stupid exercise man.

While at Mama T-B.'s, we forgot to turn hers back, must return there tomorrow man.  :bonk:

Nevertheless, a pretty good day, si man.

Extra hour of partying with the rubias, cavort we man.

Scintillating Sunday repartee, yawn man.

-------

Thrilling Sunday report, see man:

Convinced a very unenthusiastic Mini-B. to come along for lunch and to help Mama T-B., convince we man wee man.

Lunched at Wendy's WUOCs, ingest wee man and financially savvy we man.

Went to Mama T-B.'s rehab hospital, couldn't initially find her man.

Her Fizzicle Therapy had been moved earlier, got there right at the end Two Guys man.

Took new toilet apparatus and wheelchair footrests back to Mama T-B.'s place, deliver early man.

Adjusted height of former, stable now man.

Covered latter with plastic and shoved them under bed, as instructed by senior she man man.

Changed ALL of Mama T-B.'s Many (2x2x2 +2+1) -- si man, Many (2x2x2 +2+1) -- clocks, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

Why she or anyone needs Many (2x2x2 +2+1) clocks escapes us, good grief man.

Most are too small to read, what's the purpose man.

Then started the Mama-T-B.-mobile, as instructed by senior she man man.

Mini-B. requested Many (2+1) PB&J sandwiches for din-din, request wee man of we man.

He got full after the second one, ingest 2/Many'rds of din-din order wee man.

He donated the Many'rd to us, ingest along with a stray dinner-roll we man.

A good Two Guys din-din, ingest Two Guys man.

Ex-Mrs.-T-B. came, end of Two Guys week man.

Mini-B. actually consented to watch AFV, finally and first time in a while man.

Afterward came a half-hour out-of-control game of mini-hoop, hazardous to health and decor man.

Mini-B. finally went away, sad we man.

It was a good Two Guys week, si man.

Many (2+1) laundry loads conquered, victorious we man.

Warsher dished, still running and then de-dish man.

We shall have a helluva Monday, discharge of Mama T-B. man.

We are to be ready to respond at Many -- si man, Many -- a.m., uncivilized hour man.

We must then prepare for Mama T-B. to go aysheep and be authoritarian about everything, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

But it was not at all clear for the longest time that she would be able to return to independent living, no man.

We must remind ourself that this is the optimal outcome that we were praying for, si and :bonk: man.

We must be calm, cooperative, and accepting regarding whatever she needs us for on Monday and later, si man.

Thrilling Monday report, see and :girlwerewolf2xn: man:

Went to retrieve Mama T-B. around half-past Many (2x2x2 +1) a.m., retrieve senior she man we man.

Went well except that she forgot her cell phone in the room, remember senior she man.

She told us "in the bathroom, in one of the 2 drawers," direct senior she man we man.

No drawers anywhere in the bathroom, stymied we man.

Nurse came upstairs to rescue us, find phone elsewhere she man.

Mama T-B. yelled at us about it, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

Mama T-B. ordered us to stop her wheelchair just inside her casa's front entrance, comply we man.

Every bag of stuff had to be gone through, each item handled, and each item placed where it belonged, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

Mama T-B. sent us to the office to learn the protocol for having meals delivered to hospital dischargees, si man.

Office sent us to the dining-room manager during lunchtime, divided attention man.

Mama T-B. told us to get lunch for ourself on her account, excess monthly funds man.

When we returned, Mama T-B. was running a laundry load, typical of senior she man man.

We were told to put the stuff in the dryer on "longest high heat," comply we man.

Many (2+2+1) minutes later, Mama T-B. ordered us to remove nearly all of it for drip-drying, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

Lunch was a senior-sized chopped hamburger steak, small dollop of mashed potatoes, and Many -- si man, Many -- brussels sprouts, ingest and gag we man.

Mama T-B. then determined that she didn't need her toilet-rack apparatus, toilet high enough already man.

The quest to find a storage place then began, :girlwerewolf2xn:  :girlwerewolf2xn: :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

One-Many'rd of a closet was cleaned out, no not right man.

Many (2x2x2) -- si man, Many (2x2x2) -- wheelchairs, transporters, walkers, Rollators, and Many-footed canes then needed to be moved around, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

After a full hour, new wheelchair, toilet apparatus, and Many (2+2+2) existing items were arranged acceptably, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

A mutual screaming match occurred during this halcyon experience, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

The closet-cleaning and rearranging yielded Many bags of stuff and 2 handicap items for us to take away, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

We did manage to lug this stuff away in one trip to the T-B.-mobile, only bright spot man.

Another hot discussion occurred regarding failure to get rid of unneeded or nonworking #######, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

When we dragged it out from Mama T-B. that all the heavy work was over, she released us, dead we man.

We had just set forth in the T-B.-mobile when the phone rang, Guess Who man.

Mama T-B. said, "Walgreens, si man!  One Rx is wrong, si man.  They prescribed Many-mg pills that we're supposed to split, unacceptable man."

We were very near the Walgreens, bright spot man.

We went in and unsuccessfully lobbied the pharmacy staff, oh well man.

Mama T-B. told us, "Oh, take what they prepared, nertz man."

We delivered the stuff to Mama T-B., deliver we man.

It was now after Many (2+1) p.m., marathon man.

We went to another Walgreens for our own Rx pickup, nearly forgotten man.

Ordered an extra-large 'roni 'za from 'za place on the way back, convenient man.

Entered casa and was immediately confronted by indignant miu, Treat and Lunch us Daddy NOW man.

Serviced miu and consumed Many'rds of our 'za, ingest and soon fend off intensely interested miu we man.

Took siesta, zzz like a dead thing we man.

Before alarm rang, phone rang, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

It was Casa Health Care nurse, "We want to arrange visits with your mom, si man!" :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

Nurse wanted name of Mama T-B.'s GP, who knows man.

We suggested that nurse call Mama T-B. for that information, reliable source man.

Mama T-B. soon called, call we man senior she man.

"I can't get my TV stations, no man!  Who was watching TV while I was gone, huh man?"

"Nobody that we know of, man," weakly answered we man.

"Well, somebody was in here -- there were 2 candy-wrappers by the TV, si man!" said senior she man.

"The only ones were the maid, us, and Mini-B., and we didn't watch TV, si and no man," said we man.

"Well, somebody was in here and messed with my TV, si man!" growled senior she man.

We continued to deny everything until Mama T-B. lost interest, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

Upon review, we could have traded this day with almost anyone else and been happy, :girlwerewolf2xn: :girlwerewolf2xn: :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

Going to rant.

There is a lot going on in my household right now. I take care of both my elderly parents that are getting increasingly unwell - that is I take care of their physical needs - bathing, meds, food, cleaning, getting them to appointments. My sister takes care of the financial side of things - some time ago she discovered that my dad had created quite a large amount of debt and then dumped it on us to take care of and keep things afloat. ''Afloat'' is what we do, as best we can. That is not easy with rising interest rates and inflation. She works a high pressure job, often pulling OT. My husband has a very good job - his financials cover all our bills, but lately my sister has been relying on us to provide funds for things she can't cover. That's frustrating for both of us.

A long time ago, before I met my husband, and when my parents were not in frail health, my other sister resided in the home. It was supposed to be a temporary thing and she was supposed to pay rent. It lasted about 4 years and rent was not paid. In addition there was at the time, many thousands that she took from my parents and grandparents and did not return. It was a very difficult time with constant arguments - she has mental health issues and I felt very unsafe living here. Eventually she left.

Cue many many many months ago. She's being evicted. This is a person that has gone bankrupt several times, has poor credit, will lie, cheat, steal, gaslighting, and again mental health issues which can become violent. She has had some other severe losses in her life, for which I do feel terribly about but none of these things I can change. She continued partying and doing her thing. I advised that the housing/rental market is currently difficult and that she needed to take this seriously. This advice was not followed. My dad talks to her regularly - they have similar personalities minus the mental health - but he is often goaded and manipulated. Some months ago, he wanted her to come live here. All of us, the entire family, explained clearly that financially this was not possible, and physically we approach the boundaries of not having livable space for another person. I am often pushed to the end of my stress levels daily in caring for my parents, and while I feel for her, I cannot care for another person that has needs I cannot give her. I did make some suggestions, but they were not heeded.

Once again the topic has come up. My dad says she will be homeless, and they have had many arguments and it's all the rest of the family's fault. He said he would never let me go live out on the street. I appreciate that, but I would never put myself into that situation nor would I ever expect or demand that of my family. He doesn't understand the reality of the financial situation nor does he care to. We all essentially pay his bills. At this point, I said that if she ever returned here, I would not feel safe and that me and my husband would leave because my priority is protecting my family. It would be difficult for us, but we'd certainly do it.

My priority has always been my husband. He has accomplished so much in the US. I am in the process of making sure steps as a new citizen are completed like getting passports. That is extremely important because we recently were told his parents need care that the NHS isn't giving them, and we believe a situation will likely happen where we will need to return to the UK to sort out things. There is a lot on his plate, on both of our plates. All of us are trying to do the right thing, but the right thing here is getting murky and at times feels abusive emotionally and financially.
