We are slightly-to-moderately red-green c'blind, sigh man.

Sometimes, we can guess fairly well, si man.

Other times, we are way off, sigh man.

Traffic lights to us look red, yellow, and white, see we man.

We have no idea about "shades," pink/magenta/rose etc. man.

We also rarely guess right between blue and purple, what's "purple" man.

 

We used to have a female neighbor who was yellow-blue c'blind, exceptionally rare man.

 

In skool, we remember a day when the teechur produced two of the Ishihara (?) C'blindness plates, si man.

One was to indicate red-green, the other yellow-blue, distinction man.

We were the only c'blind stoodent, si man.

We could see the number buried within the red-green, but not the yellow-blue, see and no man.

This perplexed us and our contemporaries derided us some, embarrassing man.

It occurred to us, many years later, that the book's editors weren't c'blind and had no one on staff who was, and they inadvertently swapped the plates and published them wrong, vindication for we man man!

Oh my word...this is like first principles of designing an experiment - test it to make sure it works!  

 

I work for an oilfield services company and teach borehole imaging.  Basically, if you're familiar with ultrasound technology, that's one of the measurements we use to "see" the subsurface geology, albeit at different frequencies to medical imaging.  We also use resistivity and nuclear measurements to create images.  We use petrophysical log curves to aid in our interpretation.  It's the curves that tend to cause the biggest issues for colorblind people because they are typically red, green blue, yellow and black.  We have had colorblind students who used a greyscale palette to successfully interpret their images (typically, the palettes are scaled from white to black with yellow and orange tones in between).

Separate, Special, Stupendous Thursday Din-Din report, see separately specially and stupendously man:

 

Mini-B.'s skool district hosted food-vendors who were vying for the skool district's breakfast/lunch contracts, big shindig man.

This looked like a good opportunity for free din-din, of course intensely interested we man.

We T-B.-mobiled to the location where samples were being served for 2 hours over din-din time, not far man.

Place was mobbed with parents and kids and Many00 vendors, BIG shindig man.

 

We made our rounds, asking for samples, vendors only too happy to oblige man.

We absolutely stuffed ourself with all types of din-din food, ingest and self-stuff we man.

We went back for more of the especially tasty stuff, return we man.

It was like a buffet served by heaven, ingest we man.

It was even better than the samples at Costco, no comparison man.

There were no vegetables, either, take that man.

And the price was FREE*, ZERO*, NOTHING*, NADA*, heavenly man.

     *thus "refunding" some of our outrageous skool taxes, take that man

 

Once stuffed with this din-din, we congratulated ourself, financially savvy brilliant ingenious we man.

Thrilling Thursday non-din-din report, see man:

 

We awoke a couple of minutes before the alarm did its sadistic thing, let us zzz more man.

Miu indicated an intense interest in miu-breakfast, comply we man.

 

Weather forecast was for periods of heavy rain, even more on Friday man.

We reluctantly decided to mow the lawn, couldn't delay any longer man.

But then, pop-up shower, timely man.'

Lunch was the remaining 2 corn dogs, ingest we man.

By then, rain had stopped and steamed off, rendering lawn fit for mowing man.

 

Mowed front and undead one-Many'rd of back yard, mow we man.

Blew detritus from driveway/sidewalk, blow off we man.

Just Many minutes thereafter, a heavier shower started, How Dry We Aren't man.

This one would have rendered lawn unfit to mow for the rest of the day, timely we man.

We commended ourself on our impeccable innate sense of timing, self-congratulate we man.

 

Job consumed 2 sweatbands, one job one recovery man.

Went to sit under ceiling fan to dry off, perspirational we man.

Watched one episode of The Twilight Zone, good stuff man.

Miu occupied our lap for most of this time, sweaty miu-hair all over ourself man.

 

Showered and siesta'd, both intensely needed man.

Mama T-B. call with an update about Many (2x2x2 +2+2+2) minutes before alarm rang, oh well man.

Mama T-B. doing OK, complaining about too much mealtime food man.

 

This is when we left for din-din, leave we man.

The skool campus where din-din was hosted was adjacent to a supermarket, grocery for week we man.

On return to casa, got text from ex-Mrs.-T-B., offering free pasta/meatballs, too late man.

That would have been another free din-din, die and go to heaven we man.

 

We are undecided about another siesta, self-debate we man.

Party with the rubias later tonight, cavort we man.

Need energy for cavorting, consider we man.

Have not yet compiled Friday ES/GS itinerary, must do man.

The man who straddles the fence gets a sore crotch, conclude we man.

Maybe we shall siesta, zzz we man.

Rant, grrr man:  One ES co. (that we'd never heard of before) had trouble with the correct address of its own sale,  and  man.  Of all the things to be sloppy about,  man...

We have an acorn problem.  This extreme heat from this summer seems to have sent the front yard oaks into overdrive.  My neighbor sent a text, jokingly asking if we could please ask our trees to stop throwing acorns at their house.  It's insane!  Hopefully they don't pelt the kids too bad when they come trick or treating on Tuesday!

 

On another note, completed Kid1's homecoming mum.  This was because the original plan of boyfriend's mom making fell by the wayside when the kids broke up.  Then Kid1's bestie was supposed to make one and flaked.  So, mom to the rescue.  Texas has some weird traditions and this one definitely falls into that category.

Friday ES report, see man:

 

We got a very late start (q.v. Thrilling Friday non-ES report later tonight, q.v. man), si man.

We attended the Many (2+1) itineraried ESs, attend we man.

Ran out of time to visit the GS, oh well man.

 

Two of the Many (2+1) ESs yielded the take, see man:

 -- hair-dryer with actual "cool" setting = $Many ($2+2+1), OK man

 -- toucans Arrid pit-spray, coat for Mini-B., 2 pro sample Breztri inhalers = $Many 

          ($2x2x2 +2+2+1), OK man

Total = $Many ($2x2x2x2 +2)

 

We shall check again, but nothing else seemed feasible for Saturday, oh well and weekly streak still alive man.

Thrilling Friday non-ES report, see man:

 

Wanted to sleep in, short-of-zzz we man.

Was dozing, semi-zzz we man.

Got call from Fizzicle Therapist at the rehab hospital, nearly heart failure we man.

FT merely wanted to update us re Mama T-B., nice but wait till a reasonable hour man.

FT under impression that Mama T-B. would return to "assisted" living, deluded FT she man.

We firmly corrected this to "independent" living, get it straight man.

Mama T-B. is facing the same educational battle there, one-track minds man.

 

While we caffeinated ourself, Uncle T-B. called, update we man senior he man.

Someone else then called us, let us self-caffeinate man!

By this time, it was half an hour till noon, good grief man.

Lunch was one (small) chicken pot pie*, ingest we man.

     *bought as part of a Many-pack on sale at Costco, financially savvy we man

 

Finally got going after noon, belated we man.

We were lucky that the ESs were much more proximal than usual, hit them we man.

Groceried solely WUOC at legacy supermarket afterward, financially savvy we man.

Returned to casa exhausted after Many p.m., inadequate zzz/caffeine/hydration we man.

 

Treated/lunched demanding miu, serve miu we man.

Showered, felt better then man.

Siesta'd for almost an hour, awakened for Many'rd day in a row by call from Mama T-B. man.

 

Mama T-B. again aced FT but needs help with Occ Therapy, that's equally important man.

Case manager giving vibes about discharge at end of next week, uh-oh man.

No one there understands that Mama T-B. must be able to do what she needs to do, to wit man:

  -- write, still has tremors man

  -- eat with silverware, still spills spoons man

  -- do other daily activities without tremors, shake it man

It does no good to do a half-butt job to where she's back to needing help, no and    man.

 

After dark, we went to legacy supermarket for 2 forgotten items and to stock up on staples**, si man.

     *grape Powerade Zero and Manycans (toucans + toucans + toucans) of beef stew, si man

Din-din was onecan of aforementioned beef stew, ingest we man.

 

Brushed/played with/din-dinned needy miu, serve miu we man.

No desire to search for Saturday GSs/ESs, this may change man.

Awaiting grocery list from Uncle T-B., why does he delay man.

Half-heartedly partying with the rubias, half-cavort we man.

The trees get trimmed yearly. The oak in the back is probably 80 years old and massive. The canopy has been trimmed quite high up, but you can’t really stop it’s spread with a tree that old.
