$22 later and the washing machine is repaired.  Financially savvy!  Sure beats a fat stack of cash to replace the thing when the rest of it was fine.  Just needed a new cold water inlet valve controller.

Thrilling Tuesday report, see man:

What a day, si and sigh man.

Breakfast was a banana, ingest we man.

Had to take Mama T-B. to doctor and grab supermarket item in heavy monsoon, How Dry We Aren't man.

Rain quit precisely after we got Mama T-B. back to her crib, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

Lunch was onecan of Costco chicken breast, ingest we man.

Heard nothing from FJC all morn, zero man.

Returned to casa to find 2 e-mails, see e we man.

In one, she said, "I can't respond to texts anymore because I'm overdue on my $Many00 payment," 🙄 man.

We merely commented that she must have a very expensive plan, demur we man.

She said that it was this month + past overdue, well OK man.

We and the FJC continued to e-mail, OK man.

It turns out that she is really in Shreveport, LA, recent transfer and :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

However, she claimed the ability and willingness to travel to us "anytime," offer FJC to we man man.

We proposed several open days next week, si man.

She said that she would get back to us next week, great for planning man.

She noted again that loss of her cell service was hampering her activities, 🙄 man.

We told her, "Nothing personal, but we firmly do not send money to anyone unmet, no man," si man.

She replied, "Understood -- hope it doesn't change anything, no man," 🙄 man.

We then asked her for clarification of several issues, life story man.

No response since then, could be one of a couple of reasons man.

"Trust but verify" should clarify whether the FJC is real or fake, could go either way man.

We also could find nothing online matching the FJC's name, no records man.

Din-din was "Chicken Pad Thai" from Costco, off of future menus after ingest Two Guys man.

Our blood labs came back, anticipatory we man.

Damned glucose is Many (2x2x2x2 -1) -- si man, Many (2x2x2x2 -1) -- points high, :ranting: :girlwerewolf2xn: :crying: man.

Damned A1c has fallen precisely 0.1 points, :ranting:  :girlwerewolf2xn:   :crying: man.

Potassium is now 0.1 points low, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

CO2 and BUN are both on the high red line, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

These labs are more hosed than those Many (2+1) months ago, :ranting: man.

We consumed almost nothing with high or added sugars, no man.

We cannot cook protein-laden substances and are sick of vegetables, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

We don't know what else to do, no man.

Caucus with doc is Wednesday midday, verdict man.

Scroo our infernal pancreas, :ranting: man.

Bad malfunctioning T-B. pancreas!  Bad, BAD malfunctioning MALFUNCTIONING T-B. pancreas!

We have had worse days, si man, but this one certainly ranks in the top Many, sigh man.

No party with the rubias and we may apply to a monastery, monastic we man.

And that was/is our thrilling Tuesday, report and :ranting: we man.

Why can't you cook protein?

This is what I've been doing lately.

For breakfast put some muesli mix topped with high protein greek yogurt, add frozen blueberries and bananas for potassium and vitamins. Let the fruit do the sugar lifting or add a tiny bit of honey.

Slap some ground lean turkey, low sodium chickpeas, low sodium diced tomato, tomato paste, with a diced zucchini and onion into a pot. Throw in some spices. Let simmer. Have it with brown rice or wrap it into a tortilla (whole wheat, low carb, or higher protein type) sprinkled with low fat cheese and you've got a nice high protein meal.

For snack try low sodium Nut Thins, air popped popcorn, apples and cheese, rice cake or an egg and some chicken salad.

For dinner put a frozen chicken breast or frozen salmon in the oven, put some frozen veg and potatoes in microwave.

Fortunately I'm not attractive!!!

All men are attractive to someone in their own way. There's a difference between one that is so vapid and vain that there are no other thoughts going on upstairs and one that has the secret smolder. That's pretty much the same for men and women.

Chickens are good. Getting a lot of eggs now that the daylight hours are starting to get longer.

Tbone any all all carbs turn to sugar in your body. No if's and or but's about it. It is a proven fact, so yes all those so called healthy veggies turn to sugar. This is why the Atkins diet, Keto diets work so well for diabetics.

I know I posted before about Dr Ken Berry on Youtube, but you really need to go go check him out. He has a video for almost any question you have. He also just not spew nonsense he will put links in the description to actual data/research.  I promise you if you want to get rid of that blood sugar issue follow his advice. The Hillbilly is 2 yrs of no longer being T2D, his A1C is 5.3, his sleep apnea went from 86 times a minute to 2 times a minute.

Valid point, honestly.  I know canned and premade frozen items are quick and easy, but often carry unnecessary fat and carbs.  It's recommended that you get 0.36g protein/pound of body weight.  Getting 20-30g/meal is pretty ideal.

The air fryer is pretty genius.  I cook chicken breasts in it all of the time.  Sheet pan meals in the regular oven are pretty easy, too.  Put some foil over the cookie sheet for easy clean up, possibly some non-stick cooking spray, depending on what you're making, load er up, shove er in and a bit of time later, voila!  Real food!

I can't do much dairy, so my quick and dirty is an egg scramble (usually one full egg with added egg white for protein) with taco seasoned (watch the sodium) ground turkey and a smidgeon of cheese for breaky.  We just got a new, gluten free taco seasoning because Kid1 appears to be gluten sensitive and it's delicious!

Maybe a great dating opportunity, when you finally find a worthy lady friend, would be some sort of culinary class.  Or, it might be a great thing to do with Mini TB.  One day, he'll need to woo the ladies!  I did a mozzarella making class with one of my besties and hubs and I did a sourdough class.  I want to do a barista class at some point.  Just something a bit different and totally fun :)

Thrilling Wednesday-on-Thursday report, see man:

One minute after first alarm, we got a text from the FJC, si man.

She magically paid for her $Many00 phone bill by "getting money from coworkers," yeah right man.

She texted later to ask if we were home, si man.

We said, "No man, but we want to set up a video chat with you, see man."

Radio silence thereafter, surprise man.

We are nearly Many00% sure that the FJC is a sophisticated scammer, off-blow "her" tomorrow we man.

Breakfast was 2 turkey-&-cheese sandwiches on Costco hamburger buns, ingest we man.

Went to doc in early afternoon, see we man MD man man.

We said that we were angry and depressed at the hosed labs, what more could we have possibly done man.

He said, "Let's turn this around, see man," si man.

"No, the A1c didn't drop below Many, but it didn't go up and in fact fell, think about it this way man."

"I'm not concerned with a one-time glucose reading of Many, no man, but rather over time, si man."

"Keep doing what you're doing and we'll look again in Many (2+1) months, si man."

We left feeling unbad about the situation, that's something man.

After doc caucus, we gassed the thirsty-ish T-B.-mobile at Costco, such a gas man.

We then went to Party City, all stores closing man.

We got more than Many00 paper din-din plates for $Many ($2x2x2 +2+2+1), financially savvy we man.

We then went to Dollar-Plus-Half-of-Half-a-Dollar Tree for Mama T-B., complete success man.

We off-dropped the stuff while Mama T-B. cursed over Many-year CD rates, intense senior she man.

Ex-Mrs.-T-B. retrieved Mini-B. from skool, non-Two Guys eve man.

We therefore procured din-din at Subway*, ingest we man.

*WUOC + gift card, financially savvy we man

A nice siesta was taken thereafter, zzz we man.

Ex-Mrs.-T-B. returned with Mini-B. an hour early, surprise man.

Mini-B. had to pick his hyskool courses, due date tonight of course man.  :ranting:  :girlwerewolf2xn:  :bonk:  :ranting:

Many (2+2) -- si man, Many (2+2) -- hours later, finally finished, exhausted we and wee man man.

Mini-B. consulted his various amigos for advice, si man.

We had to complete the course grids for each year, griddy we man.

Now it is up to the skool counselorette to approve it, hopeful we man.

And Band is not a selected course,    we and wee man man.

No party with the rubias tonight, no cavort we man.

Must arise at o'dark-Many for Band sectional, :ranting: man.

And that was/is our thrilling Wednesday, report we man.

Do not mock, denigrate, or cast aspersions on the down-beaten T-B., no man!

Definitely not mocking, denigrating or casting aspersions!  Absolutely think you deserve someone who's the peanut butter to your jelly.

Get yourself one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Magnetic-Accessories-Kitchen-Cookbook-Whiteboard/dp/B09668W7NK/ref=asc_df_B09668W7NK?mcid=3f0fc7fa2cc83738882cddd14422ce0f&tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=693405620605&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5931506800820510992&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9189406&hvtargid=pla-1379446879414&th=1

It should open up the possibilities for you to try some different things.  Basically anything can be cooked in the air fryer.

I usually do refrigerated chicken breasts.  Season.  Toss in basket.  Flip half way through.

Since you're local, we quite like the John Henry seasonings and rubs.  My brother makes me haul the Texas sized bags of it up to Canada for him.  When I was stuck up in Canada waiting on our interviews, hubs brought like 4 or 5 bags of it.  I was headed to visit and Kid2 made me bag the seasoning like 5 times because he hated the smell of it and, of course, it was in the back of the vehicle behind him for the 7 hour car trip 😄.

Do you BBQ grill?  We do foil packs with potatoes, carrots and whatever else, a little bit of olive oil, seasoning and chuck it on.  When it's nearly cooked, we do the proteins.  I also really like a sweet potato foil wrapped and cooked to perfection.  I keep meaning to try some peanut butter on said potato because rumor has it, it's delish.

Shouldn't you be working on flipping that around?  I mean you were the other half of the whole life giving...indentured servitude required!  🤣

The Rant Thread.  Circa 2013.

Continuation thread for:

Tell us your gripes, fears, hopes.  (And we'll quickly put you down.)

Tell us your deepest, darkest desires.  (We will return you to reality)

All are welcome -- chew the fat here, pass the time.

A brief history of this thread:  Created by Steve (user name SAT), it started off as a place for VJers to rant, vent, talk.  It has evolved into an everyday friendly (and rude) conversation.

THE RULES of the thread, from the undersigned.

1.   We like each other here.  So don't be a jerk.
2.   No Facebook links.
3.   This thread is not for debates, not for fighting.

4.   This is a conversation.  Keep it light-hearted.
5.   If you see antagonists, just put them on ignore.
6.   If you think that your stinkiness don't stink, please stay out.
7.   Not everyone on the planet is going to agree with you, so don't push issues.
8.   Please don't push your political and religious beliefs here.
9.   If you don't like the people here, please don't post here.  VJ is full of other threads.

10.   Please don't post anything that'll link anything to your identity.  We've had problems in the ancestral threads.

11.   Have a sense of humor; don't be such a stiff.  Remember?  Humor?

Don't take anything personally; half of the stuff said here is just jive (In the case of Steve, it's 100% jive).

From SAT, the now sadly inactive OP:

This thread is politically incorrect.  Come in, come in, rant away.  Let us tell you how to suffer.  Let us make fun of you. We're rude and crass. Business, all business!

Ugh, today’s been one of those days. Tried to get some paperwork sorted, and of course, the website crashed right after I filled out every single detail. Twice.
