We have been stewing her, no reply man.

We were thinking of "Thank you, JC, si man."

Or "Thank you, JC, si man.  What else would you like to discuss, huh man?"

I would probably say "Thank you, hope you had a nice New Year too"

Had Christmas home alone after parents-Dave were around for Thanksgiving. PRG doesn't like going to Florida over Christmas (not a lot to do with mini-Dave near my parents' place, and holidays mean theme parks and such are busy and more expensive), and not venturing to extended family in Ohio without some immediate family also going along. Mini-Dave had the most presents by far, of course.

Pretty much decided that if PRG & I are in good situations with work and we're not visiting anyone or having guests next year, we'll take some kind of vacation before or after Christmas.

Toured mini-Dave's prospective elementary school yesterday (not sure why first open house at year-round school was only a bit over two weeks from deadline to apply, when applications were open back in October).

PRG and I liked the place (as much as you can tell from stats and a one-hour presentation and tour), so made some minor changes and submitted the mostly-done application that had been sitting in their system for months.

If he gets in, will start kindergarten in July. Looking at the regular-calendar school (where he should end up at if we don't get in the year-round school) next Thursday, though (expecting it to be pretty similar as it's the same school district and they're less than half a mile apart on the same street).

I would probably say "Thank you, hope you had a nice New Year too"

This morning, we did almost verbatimly this, si and see D ma'am:

"Thank you, JC man, and the same to you, si man."

Later this eve, we wrote this, see man:

"Is there anything that you'd like to talk about, huh man?"

The JC wrote, see man:

"I don't want to talk, no man.  I was feeling a little emotional when I messaged you, si man.  I had someone pass away today, si man."

We wrote, see man:

"Sorry to hear it, sigh man.  A relative, si man?"

The JC wrote, see man:

     "My newborn nephew, wee man."

We wrote, see man:

"How awful, sigh man.  Sincere sympathies, si man."

The JC wrote, see man:

"I appreciate it, si man.  Have a good night, si man."

We wrote, see man:

"You too, si man.  Just remember that you reached out to us when you felt emotional, si man.  Good night, si man."

We figure that this is a definite off-blowing of us after a moment of weakness on the JC's part, oh well man.

Agree or disagree, huh man?

Thrilling Wednesday report, see man:

Made some frustrating auto-phone-tree calls to Many (2+1) places that would have taken a fraction of the time if a real person had picked up the infernal phone to begin with, :ranting: man.

When a real person finally did pick up, all Many had thick foreign accents, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

We refused to complete an after-call survey because we were so steamed, enough time wasted man.

Lunch was a turkey-&-cheese sandwich, ingest we man.

Went to doc caucus, caucus to decent benefit think we man.

Returned to casa for much-needed siesta, interrupted precisely halfway by irritating reminder call, :ranting: man.

Up-picked Mini-B. for Two Guys eve, Two Guys man.

Of many din-din choices (BK, Jack in the Box, Popeye's, Subway), Mini-B. chose BK*, no surprise man.

     *WUOC, financially savvy we man

Usual BK had finally finished interior remodeling, only drive-through open for many weeks man.

We & Mini-B. decided to go in to order, check out new environs man.

Place was a lot less seedy-looking than before, no longer rundown man.

However, order-counter was replaced by automatic-screen kiosks, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

We hate those contraptions with a passion, :ranting:  :ranting:  :ranting: man.

Mini-B. rolled his eyes and showed us how to use it, technologically savvy wee man man.

Nice lady manager also came out to aid us and even told Mini-B. to go easy on our generation, si man.

We were partially mollified by all this, still-peeved we man.

Din-din was then consumed at the casa, ingest Two Guys man.

Mini-B. was highly amused when watching miu play with new miu-toy, big miu-hit man.

Mini-B. agreed to a movie night, mild surprise man.

We watched Almighty Bruce, watch Two Guys and very good man.

Many (2+2) -- si man, Many (2+2) -- bowls of Costco popcorn were consumed, ingest Two Guys man.

These will apply to next Two Guys' week's tally, massive head start man.

We & Mini-B. then played mini-hoop, mini-hoop Two Guys man.

We returned Mini-B. without incident, end of fulfilling Two Guys eve man.

We managed to retrieve an Rx from nearby pharmacy right before closing, timely we man.

Clarity (?) with the JC seemingly reached, q.v. above post man.

Party with the rubias tonight, cavort we man.

Weather supposed to highly suck on Thursday, cold flooding rains man.

It's Mini-B.'s first day of skool, ex-Mrs.-T-B. must deal with the traffic man.

We have no formal plans other than to compile our GS/ES itinerary, only plan for we man man.

And that was/is our thrilling Wednesday, report we man.

It's been a minute - holidays were busy!

TB, I agree with Ontarkie - time to move on.  She's right, too.  You want someone who sees the fact that you and ex-Mrs. TB have a healthy, working relationship that prioritizes Mini-B as a sign of someone of great moral character with priorities in check.  You should see the fact that she went right to assuming you and Ex-Mrs. TB were still a thing as a red flag.  You do deserve a great person!

If only more separated/divorced parents would just learn to move on and get along.  My ex and I get on fine and neither hubs nor the ex's current wife have an issue.  In fact, when the ex comes to town, he typically stays at our place to get maximum time in with the kids.  The new wife and her kids have as well.  It's called adulting and more adults need to partake!

HEB has it all figured out.  They hire cashiers and baggers.  They offer customer service.  Kiosks and self checkouts might have their place, but not in a service industry.  I also give HEB credit because there one of the few places left with great first jobs for teenagers with growth opportunities and they pay well.  My not kid (friend's son and Kid1's bestie) worked from the time he was 16 until he left for uni and has been working his behind off over the Christmas break.  He's happy he's returning to dorm life with a much happier bank account than when he came home!

Ugh, I had to go back to work this week, and worked the WHOLE week (that's Mon-Thurs for us).

All those northerners are back and the traffic is horrible.  And why do they not know how to drive properly?

It's been cold all week.  Even had to turn the heat on (mostly in the morning).  At least the new mattress heater works great.

Check engine light is on in the SUV.  A minor emissions problem but I'm not going to try to fix it since it's under warranty.  Just need to find the time and make an appointment at the dealer.  Probably means waiting a few more weeks for an opening.

The toilet at the office has developed a leak.  With every flush it has a significant flow of water from a bad tank to bowl gasket.  Off to Home Depot today to get the parts.  Then off to the accountant.

Oh, there seems to be a problem with the well water treatment.  Chemical injector control is sticking.  I've worked on it a few years ago.  Needs attention again.

Hope I get some rest this weekend.

I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it.

I went bald but I kept my comb.  I just couldn't part with it.
