we hate winter man.

What's this winter you speak of?  It's stunningly beautiful outside 🌞...no more devil's ball sack heat and humidity and you said it yourself - barely sweatband weather these days!

Winter comes in Jan or Feb when people with underinflated summer slicks and water in their windshield washer reservoir begin to panic about whether their antifreeze is right for "freezing temps" 🤦‍♀️.

We got our 🎄 tree on Wednesday because people are weird here and they are likely nearly sold out at the tree place near the house. We got there an hour and a half after it opened and there were SOLD tags on at least a quarter of the lot that were out!  Kid1 and I were highly entertained when a family bought a large tree but brought a small truck to take it home.  There were half a dozen or so people trying to engineer a solution to get the tree fastened to the truck for transport.

We didn't know how things were going to go with the junior cat, but he's content to lay under the tree.  He's only pulled the one dinosaur ornament off like 3 times.  There's a fight between him and the old lady Siam over real estate laying under the tree.

Thrilling Monday report, see man:

We were to take Mama T-B. to Walmart Optical to order Many (2+1) pairs of lenses, si man.

Mama T-B. had indicated a need for eyedrops, quick trip to pharmacy area man.

We up-picked Mama T-B. at Many (2x2x2 +2) a.m., appointed time man.

Had to wait <1 hour at W. Optical for service, look at new frames man.

Appointment took <1 hour, Many lenses to discuss man.

So far, so good, si man.

However, see this man:

Mama T-B. came with a whole list of items to shop for, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

They were literally in all Many (2+2) corners of the store, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

She wanted to get them in order of her list, not store-layout order, finally convince otherwise we man.

She tried on Many (2+2+2) shoes & slippers and again found none that fit, disappointing man.

We had eaten nothing and were not only quite hangry but almost reeling with lightheadedness, reel we man.

We're certain that we ruined her "day out," rare and almost certainly a treat for senior she man man.

We wish that she had told us in advance of these plans, consequently prepare better we man.

We were quite irritable and had her in tears by the end, :bonk: we man.

We didn't return to the casa until half-of-half till Many (2+1) p.m., Many-&-a-half hours out man.

There was no time to eat or siesta, no man.

We fed miu and prepared to de-skool Mini-B., no respite man.

Din-din was the remaining 2/Many'rds of the bag of Birdseye garlic chicken from Costco, ingest Two Guys man.

It was not consumed a moment too soon, ingest Two Guys man.

We finally felt better, good grief man.

And we feel awful how we treated Mama T-B., sigh man.

Movie night was the first Many (2+1) half-of-halves of an NBA game, watch Two Guys man.

Many (2+2) bowls of Costco popcorn were consumed, ingest Two Guys man.

Must arise at o'dark-Many on Tuesday to take Mini-B. to Band rehearsal, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

No formal Tuesday plans otherwise, up-catch on various administrative stuff we man.

No party with the rubias tonight, no cavort we man.

Mama T-B. is even more parsimonious than are we, financially savvy senior she man.

Have you tried Kohl's?  My kid has been finding some interesting deals there for work clothes among other things at reasonable prices.

I'm a moccasin wearer myself.  The leather stretches and molds to my feet.  I have a plain leather soled pair and a pair with a crepe sole so I can easily wear them outside.  The later have been the morning school run fashion since "winter" (as you call it) arrived.  They are more pricey but they last me a couple of years before I wear through the sole on the soft soles.

Senior she man wants slippers with a high back on them, stay on man.

Senior she man wants "deck"-type shoes that slide on, si mam ma'am.

She used to be size Many but now only size Many fit, si and sigh man.

Even when there's toe room in front, something hurts her right little toe, si and sigh man.

We think that the slide-on Skechers might work, except for price man.

Mama T-B. is even more parsimonious than are we, financially savvy senior she man.

And those Skechers have backs probably too high, dunno we man.

We have done Walmart twice with no luck, no and no man.

We have tried Amazon exhaustively with no luck, no and sigh man.

Slippers can be fussy and expensive when you need something particular. Dearfoams wide fit might work (they also have other options)?  https://www.dearfoams.com/womens-rachel-velour-closed-back/26660-00498-L.html

There is also the minnetonka company. https://www.minnetonkamoccasin.com/women/collections/extended-sizes?srsltid=AfmBOor6lDAwnPsc-C8Ijn6RuK87TgXUPpvZEcrDPkfglL4yCcRP4HUF

My dad needs stable shoes he can get on quickly, so those Sketchers slide-on work for him.

Last month I got my mammogram. I thought it seemed to go well, though it was a little painful. What was strange is that it took a long time to get the results. A letter never showed up so I called, eventually something showed up in a portal. Part of my mammogram had been messed up and needed to be redone, but the rest was ambiguous and not great? They'd seen something and the radiologist wasn't sure what it was. No one would discuss the results with me, just that it was described as a mass that could be cancerous. I was devastated. I needed a redo so then had to chase the doctor to send new orders about it - she said it was urgent to get this redone and wanted another test about the mass. I call radiology again and am transferred over and over, they tell me it would be two months to the next available. I could not wait that long. They tell me my only option then is to go two hours away to a hospital breast cancer center.

So that is where I was yesterday, my husband waiting nervously in the hallway. There were many women there in varying states of  sadness. The tech was very kind for multiple tests and the doctor reviewed everything immediately. They could not really explain why I was required to come back in, as it was their opinion that the findings of a mass are benign. Get a redo in another year. When I came out of the exam room, my husband was shaking with happiness. The stress of not knowing what this lump was had taken it's toll on us both this month, especially with everything going on with my family.

I have a family history of cancer, including breast cancer, so I very much encourage everyone to get checked.
