Thrilling Saturday report, see man:

21 hours ago, TBoneTX said:

We have itineraried Many (2+2) very proximal GSs and an ES, itinerary we man.

We did not leave the casa at all, no and see below man.

We were at our lowest body-weight in quite a long time, we man.

We unenthusiastically did our a.m. caffeine, ingest we man.

The weather was cloudy, breezy, and not too humid, si, si, and no man.

We decided to mow the full lawn, needful after probably a month even with no rain man.

We figured that we would go GS-ing after finishing and up-cleaning, reason we man.

Breakfast was one turkey-&-cheese sandwich, ingest we man.

We mowed and off-blew the debris from front pavement with use of our corded blower, blow we man.

Smaller battery blower for back pavement wasn't charged, sat too long unused man.

We went inside to off-cool and wait for it to charge, si man.

Half an hour later, we went outside, si man.

We were startled to see that it had rained, very silent man.

We could not off-blow wet grass from back pavement, reasoned we man.

Shortly, it began to monsoon like an illegitimate male child, build an Ark man.

It monsooned on & off (mostly on) all day, rainout man.

We concluded that the GSs would be halted and the ES wasn't worth venturing out for, reason we man.

We therefore stayed in the casa all day, wonderful Saturday man.

A siesta was taken, marginally restorative man.

Din-din was onecan of Aldi chili and dessert was onecan of bean-with-bacon soup*, ingest we man.

*bought from a supermarket dented/clearance bin, financially savvy we man

Rant, see man:

We hate Standard Time with a passion, si and grrrr and :ranting: man.

It serves no modern purpose except to cut kids' outdoor playing time, gets dark too early man.

It's a pain in the culo to change all the clocks, never get that wasted time back ever again man.

We changed all Many (2+2+1) clocks upstairs, :ranting: we man.

We changed all Many (2+2+2+1) clocks downstairs, :ranting: we man.

We must change the T-B.-mobile clock tomorrow, :ranting: we man.

There's never been a prayer of changing the oven clock, who ever knows how that's done man.

:ranting:  :ranting:  :ranting:  :ranting:  :ranting:, rant we man.

On Sunday, we must help Uncle T-B. change batteries in his scooter, help we man senior he man man.

We must then help Mama T-B. change her kitchen clock and also get lectured, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

We must then conquer our LL and prep for Two Guys week, si man.

The envisioned menu for Two Guys week is as follows, see man:

Mon. = Costco bacon + scalloped potatoes**, probably ingest Two Guys man.

**bought on sale at Costco, financially savvy we man

Tues. = Birdseye garlic chicken + vegetables**, probably ingest Two Guys man.

**bought on sale at Costco, financially savvy we man

Wed. = Aldi lasagna, probably ingest Two Guys man.

Fri.    = Costco angusburgers, probably ingest Two Guys man.

Sat.   = Yakitori chicken & rice**, probably ingest Two Guys man.

**bought on sale at Costco, financially savvy we man

Thursday is non-Two Guys eve, :( man.

If Mini-B. has another :ranting: Band obligation, one menu item will be scratched, they feed him there man.

Some idiot has been setting off firecrackers in the 'hood for several hours, :ranting: man.

We have no idea what he's celebrating... aha man -- Columbus Day in Poland, oj tak!

And that was/is our thrilling Saturday, report we man.

Alas, having grown up in Canadia in a province where the time remains unchanged, I can say with certainty that I despise standard time, too!

Having moved north some and to someplace that is not roughly the eastern edge of its time zone if they drew straight lines, have you considered that perhaps sunrise well after 7 am that would get to after 8 in year-round DST would in fact be kind of bad?

/though the switch about 15 years ago to make the time changes in November and March instead of October and April in fact makes this worse as it doesn't happen soon enough and then happens too soon.

Dad once again in the hospital (at least this time I made him go without too much protest). You see while I was away apparently a bottle fell on his foot while in the shower. And as evidenced by his last injury, blood thinners and bruises don't mix. His foot swelled up ridiculously. Still his HHN said it was fine. I beg to differ, but whatever. His doctor was supposed to follow up but cancelled the appointment. HHN comes in the other day and now says foot is not fine. Oh really? No kidding! Demands he go to urgent care. Bless her, she's not the brightest bulb, because I know urgent is not going to do a thing for this. He needs an IV and longer care. So I make the decision to send him to the ER. And they are like holy wow, why wasn't this man seen before? So I explain well actually he has a HHN that said he was fine and his doctor bailed on him....

A few hours later HHN is blowing up the phone yelling about why I didn't inform her of my father's whereabouts. Then the doctor is blowing up the phone wanting to know why he didn't follow up if the foot was bothering him. Dude... you cancelled his appointment! 🙄

We would settle for January and February for said changes if we had to have changes at all, si DA man.

Well, the solstice is a few days before Christmas so that, erm, wouldn't make much sense ... Anyway, the point was that no DST or year-round DST might be fine in Texas or Florida or Southern California where day length is less variable, but farther north, not so much.

Trick-or-treating in a subdivision full of houses with kids instead of around multi-family housing where there were only a handful is very different. Way more kids out. Though our bowl of candy (from two large bags, because we didn't know what to expect) didn't get hit too much; we're in a cul-de-sac at the back end of the development, and our street is mostly people who moved in ten years ago when the houses were new, so their kids are older.

Not sure if just being older or strong desire for more candy kept mini-Dave out longer this year. But he was out from basically as soon as we were ready to go (a bit after nominal start time because PRG works Pacific time hours, though she did get off early) until pretty nearly the nominal end time, and a few houses were out of candy by the time we got there.

Took a mini-trip most of the way to Charlotte last weekend. PRG needed some rest, si, ma'am.

Went to aquarium, then spent night at a Great Wolf Lodge (stayed there for $many, but cheaper than 3 non-local day passes and a cheap hotel, and I think over two hours away is too far for a day trip) so mini-Dave got to play in the water for a bit. Only got him on big family-sized tube ride once (hey, he beat the minimum height by half an inch), said it was too scary and never wanted to do that again. But he still had a lot of fun.
