I managed to get the front yard lawn cut. So far half the backyard is done. I need a break!!!

Tell me again why the person with the most allergies and asthma is the one cutting the grass!!!

The Hillbilly is lucky I like him :P

If it wasn't for the major hill we live on the front yard would be doable for the Jedi, but I have managed to slide right into the road. So no way will I have the Jedi cut it.

Dunno; PRG cuts the grass here (acquired new electric mow-lawner a few months ago now that we have an actual house). I'm the one with the allergies, but it's really that PRG has more free time in the morning on weekdays.

Mini-Dave will get stuck with the job eventually, but he's still got another year until kindergarten (one day too old to apply to get in early; sure he'd be academically up to it, socially, probably not) so it'll be a while.

Checking county school district web site every week or so to see when we should start filing paperwork.

Want to get him in year-round school (a 3-week-ish break in late spring or early fall should in theory be more convenient for visiting PRG's family than a long summer break in peak tourist season and also when it's very hot nearly everywhere in the Northern Hemisphere), but supposedly year-round and magnet applications here have only about a 50% success rate, though with better odds for first year at the school (so K is the best time).

Have pretty much decided to do everything in our power to make a meetup with PRG's mom and sister happen next year, as that will be six years without seeing her family in person. Idea is to go from Raleigh to London*, spend a night or two, spend a week in Turkey, spend a night in London again on the way back, and then come home (hopefully at a time that I can avoid returning to work for a few days).

 * also nonstops from RDU to Paris and Frankfurt, but London is cheaper and British isn't too different of a language from American

That is part of the reason I end up doing it. I'm already home all day long, but I have other things to do too:protest:

Don't rush school.

Another reason why I homeschool. So much more freedom.

We don't live as far from my parents as PRG, but it was about that long between visits. It sucks too, the older boys haven't seen my parents in 12 yrs, my mom passed away last year and they weren't able to get up there. :crying: Four of us are going up there in a few weeks, then when we get back two of the older kids will head on up there too.

PRG's grandfather passed a couple years ago without ever seeing mini-Dave in person. She still has one grandmother alive (if grandma-PRG were ten years younger, she'd be far more likely to visit us on this side of the Atlantic than mama-PRG, but not really up for a long trek to Moscow and another long flight for a third-country meetup at her age). And apparently Russia changed the law, so now in order to go back to Russia PRG needs to get her name changed on her Russian passport (still has PRG's maiden name, not my last name, because changing it would have been a pain) which requires doing some stuff in-person at the Russian embassy. At least from here getting to DC is a half-day drive or very short flight instead of an adventure, but probably won't do it without definite plans to go (which until the war ends and you can at least fly to major European hubs nonstop from Moscow again, if not to the US, is a nope).

We indeed returned, very long drive man.

The skool desk was still available, e-mail ES chica we man man.

The original price was (an outrageous) $Many00, ridiculous man.

She calculated $Many ($2x2x2x2 + 2x2x2 +1) as the "make a deal" price, still too much man.

We truthfully observed that we weren't sure that Mini-B. would like it, waffle we man.

She offered $Many ($2x2x2x2 -1), better man.

We still waffled and said, "Well, for $Many ($2x2x2 +2+2), we'll take it, si man," si man.

She agreed to that, si and whee and glee man.

She found a hulking brute to stuff it into the T-B.-mobile for us, just fit on back seat man.

We now need to find someone to help extract it and carry it inside, si man.

Total = $Many ($2x2x2 +2+2)

Lunch (at 2 p.m.) was onebag of mixed vegetables, voraciously ingest we man.

Thus fortified, we went to legacy supermarket for the rest of the junk, re-grocery we man.

We delivered this and the CVS stuff to Uncle T-B., appreciative senior he man.

We were nearly Many00% sweaty by now, perspirational we man.

It was nearly Many (2+2+1) p.m., finally shower we man.

Din-din was Modified Tuna Glop, ingest we man.

On way from microwave to counter, we spilled the rice on the floor, uh-oh man.

We scooped most of it up, removed visible miu-hairs, and served it to ourself, financially savvy we man.

We have still not laundried yet, one load can wait man.

We have not dished the warsher, usually done late anyway man.

We are pleased with the accomplishments of this Sunday, still must extract desk from T-B.-mobile man.

It's been a minute...between that hurricane and work...

128 hours we went before we got power back.  When I expressed my delight, passively aggressive jealous neighbor from across the street made a comment about me having a whole home generator.  Yes, I do have one because I chose to invest the many dollars to purchase one.  It still doesn't mean I'm delighted to pay the many dollars to run it day after day. And he's the one too cheap to even purchase a portable - he ran an extension cord across the freaking street from the senior citizen neighbor's house to his place to plug in his fridge.  He didn't even offer anything in return, either.  Hubs and I cleaned up their yard from the hurricane and checked in periodically to make sure they're good.

Anyway, last week and this week, we have an employee across from China for training.  Unfortunately, Hubs got the 'vid so I'm solo teaching at the moment.  I'm worried though - I have a cough and a bit of a scratchy throat...I can't afford the 'vid because I have to take Kid1 to Toronto on Sunday!
