Din-din was nuked macaroni elbows, Italian meatballs (Aldi), spaghetti sauce (Aldi), and the aforementioned garlic bread (Aldi), ingest Two Guys man.

The garlic bread air-fried very nicely, relief man.

Mini-B. highly satisfied with all, high-Many wee man we man man.

Mini-B. used his phone liberally today, oh well man.

Finished second half of The Odd Couple, outstanding acting man.

Zero Costco popcorns were consumed, still stuffed from din-din Two Guys man.

On Sunday, amigo should be able to come over, tear the casa up man.

Mama-of-amigo is exceptionally cordial, not bad-looking, and perhaps available, investigate we man.

Mini-B. still not in bed, late night man.

If ever accomplished, party with the rubias, cavort we man.

Thrilling (?) Monday report, see man:

Lunch was the 2 remaining hot dogs from Two Guys week + the 2 salads from Mama T-B.'s refrigerator, ingest we man.

Immediately after ingestation, Mama T-B. called, phone we man senior she man.

The hourlong yak included the following, see man:

-- lack of coordinated care, dispersed man

-- no word on approval/rejection of rehab-hospital transfer, crucial man

-- fear of Medicare's belated rejection of rehab-hospital transfer, meaning self-pay man

-- being left in a chair for over an hour, seated senior she man

-- inability to walk and lack of fizzicle therapy, frustrated senior she man

-- lack of anything notable on brain MRIs/heart scans, x-rayed her head and found nothing man

-- inability to get into MyChart by cell phone, locked-out senior she man

 -- need to revise one crucial detail in Will, corporate name-change man;

-- inability to write and to think clearly, frustrated senior she man

We made immediate calls to various people for answers, most of these successful man.

We went to Mama T-B.'s casa to copy her financial PoA and read MyChart on computer, cooperative we man.

Mama T-B. kept us on the phone the entire time and yelled at us most of that time, enraged senior she man.

When satisfied, Mama T-B. let us leave, released we man.

On way back to casa, procured din-din in the form of a WhataBurger chili cheeseburger* + medium fries + medium drink, ingest we man.

     *WUOC, financially savvy we man

We specified "no onions, no man" but found it plastered with onions, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

It being nearly sundown, we attempted a sorely needed siesta, attempt zzz we man.

However, with us barely half into it, Mama T-B. called, intense senior she man.

She had learned that she was to be transferred to rehab hospital probably tomorrow, OK man.

We were ordered to take down a detailed list and to procure everything on it tonight, ordered we man.

We went back to Mama T-B.'s casa, cooperative we man.

We found most of the stuff where it reputedly was, si man.

Had to call Mama T-B. twice for clarification, irritated senior she man.

Mama T-B. then had us sign into MyChart again, be sure that it worked man.

We got back to our casa at Many p.m., long day man.

No party with the rubias tonight, no cavort we man.

Probably early call from Mama T-B., discharge papers man.

Thrilling (?!!) Tuesday report, see man:

Mama T-B. called rather early to say that hospital discharge would be around noon, unconfirmed man.

She gave us another list of stuff to get from her crib, dutifully note we man.

She said that it would be simpler for us to meet her in the new place after transfer, relax we man.

We then got an e-mail from the hospital confirming noon discharge, news to Mama T-B. man.

Lunch (hasty) was onebag of nuked mixed vegetables and a generic Excedrin, ingest we man.

We got on the way to Mama T-B.'s crib, embark we man.

We passed a voting location on the way and voted on the Texas Constitutional amendments, patriotic we man.

At Mama T-B.'s crib, we first checked the mail, already delivered man.

We discovered newspaper inserts with Arby's and Wendy's coupons, delighted we man.

We rooted through the recycle bin to collect a bunch more, financially savvy we man.

We then proceeded to Mama T-B.'s crib and collected the stuff, dutiful we man.

We answered some e-mails on Mama T-B.'s behalf, advance permission man.

Mama T-B. called to say that she was at the rehab hospital, come on over we man.

We brought all the stuff, neatly bagged man.

Mama T-B. complained about the nurse's aide, apparently an idiot he man.

Mama T-B. insisted on inspecting/handling each brought item and stowing it/ordering it stowed, typical of ex-she man man.  :girlwerewolf2xn:

We tried to be patient with this, si man.

Hospital pharmacist came in to confirm medications/allergies, sharp he man.

Nurse came in to introduce herself/perform orientation, sharp (and cute-but-married) she man.

Schedule for fizzicle* therapy seems rigorous yet kind, si man.

*should be the spelling, si man

Mama T-B.'s cell-phone cord was too short for room layout, not surprising man.

We went to Best Buy for another, get longer one for ourself too man.

Returned to rehab place, return we man.

Mama T-B. complained (more mildly) that new cord was too long, :bonk: man.

Mama T-B. gave us a short list of more items to bring, OK man.

We went back to crib to collect them to bring on Wednesday, dutiful we man.

We were exhausted, out-wiped we man.

It was evening rush traffic, didn't want to fight it to get to Wendy's** or Popeye's** man.

**for each of which we had coupons, financially savvy we man

We went to food court at mall, stood in line at only popular place there man.

At the casa (after treating/din-dinning demanding miu), consumed heavy container of beef teriyaki + rice, ingest we man.

Price ($Many) was a little above that of a full buffet, financially unsavvy but weary we man.

Briefed ex-Mrs.-T-B., sympathetic ex-she man.

Napped for nearly an hour, zzz we man.

We conclude that this next 2-week rehab period is crucial, si man.

If Mama T-B. recovers sufficiently to resume independence, sigh of relief man.

If she does not, she will need skilled nursing, level above assisted living man.

She will have to vacate her crib, sigh man.

If this happens, she will want to die and will probably achieve that, willful senior she man.

We find ourself worrying/hoping/praying, real potential pickle man.

Sorry to hear you're having so many challenges with your mom.  It's always tough to deal with aging and decline.  It seems she had a number of items in place already to help deal, but it's still a strain, as prepared as one might think they are.

Wednesday Mama-T-B. report, see man:

We went to Mama T-B.'s crib again to pick up more stuff, dutiful we man.

She wanted some clothes, necessary at rehab facility man.

She knew precisely where these items were closeted, amazing and to wit man:

"Hanging about 2 or Many from the left are these blouses -- 2 are blue, one is red, see man."

We had to do colors by the process of elimination, slightly colorblind we man*.

*courtesy of Grandpa T-B. as passed through Mama T-B., her fault man

But we guessed right on both pants and both blouses, relief man.

We also brought the other stuff, no complaints yet man.

She will have Many (2+1) Many-hour ([2+1]-hour) therapy sessions per day, good stuff man.

Almost normalcy, amazing man.

After Mama-T-B. visit, went to Costco, go we man.

Got Many (2+2) items, 2 on sale man.

After servicing demanding miu, we took a much-needed siesta, zzz we man.

Mini-B. in a mood with a 'tude upon skool pickup, oof man.

I think colorblindness is more common than people realize.  My one bestie's husband is colorblind and I have a friend who somehow managed to get a chemical engineering degree despite being colorblind.  I said to him "how in the he!! did you do titrations in chem?!" "A really good lab partner!" HA!

We worked together and the guys during our training class couldn't figure out why I'd tell him which curve was what color  during instruction.  We were asked about it on the bus on the way back to our housing complex.

Student: "Why do you always tell him what colors the curves are"

Friend: "I'm colorblind"

Me: "If I tell him which one is red and which one is magenta, he knows and remembers."

Student: "Really?!" *contemplates for a second* "What color is grass to you?"

Me: "How do you expect him to know the color of grass?  Sure, he's been told it's green but he can't see green!"

Friend: "She's right.  Maybe it's like what you'd see as orange."

Interesting conversation but it has stuck with me and I do try to remember to ask if anyone I'm teaching is colorblind because my line of work is fairly dependent in being able to see color.
