Looking into applying for jobs at community Colleges

Do community colleges employ green card holders? Any useful resources for finding work?

Each college should have its own "careers" or job-hunting webpage.

Some CCs that are part of a state's system might have combined "careers" sites.

The job openings I saw on indeed didn't mention anything about it. They did have a note saying they are EEO/ affirmative employer and they use everify.

So as long as the job opening doesn't mention anything about  the applicant needing to be a US citizen, it's safe to apply as a green card holder?

I just wanted to know if it's safe to apply for a job opening from a community college if it doesn't mention anything about the applicant needing to be a US citizen. Wasn't sure what opportunities are available to a person with green card.

Note:  Green Card holders can get into real trouble if employed in the marijuana industry.  I would steer clear of those.

This is not always the case.  My college has many federal grants that fund positions and there is no requirement that someone be a USC to apply.  There are some federal grants that specify this, but it is very rare in my experience with grants for many years.  Legal authorization to work is all that is needed for most positions funded by federal grants.

There's nothing stopping you from applying.  If they come back and say you need to be a citizen, then you know.  No reason not to make the attempt.

What do you mean “safe to apply”?   Why would it not be?

 

Any job that has a citizenship requirement will state that, along with the other job requirements.

Yes.  This is done to help the applicant, but even more so to save "screening" time by the employer.
