Why should I? I don't recall ever saying there were cases such as the one you described getting delayed due to failure of submitting tax returns. I simply stated my personal experience just like others have, nothing more. 

 

Let me ask you this, am I or any other contributor wrong to state our experiences/opinions? 

 

Just trying to understand why you seem to be so triggered.

Of course not.  But one's single experience does not mean it is the best example for others to follow.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

So my case was accepted. Got my NOAs. Biometrics were waived.

 

After a lot of back and forth with my attorney we are not adding taxes to our case. She flat out told me to just trust her otherwise why did I pay her. Makes sense to me.

 

Will keep this updates as I get more news.

I just got the notice that my interview was scheduled for 9/27. 

 

Applied 5/26 (5 year rule)

Check cashed 6/2

Interview Scheduled 8/20

 

No RFE.

 

So close to being done!

- Interview was scheduled for 8:35AM in the Raleigh, NC office. I went with my lawyer who helped file my N-400.

- Arrived at 8:20AM. Check in took 5 minutes. Waited another 15-20 before we were called.

- Interviewer was extremely friendly, explained what the process was going to look like and began with an oath to say the truth.

- Civics part was first and after answering 6/6 that ended. Then reading and writing. Then Yes and No questions. My attorney gave the IO my recent travels and updated the file.

- He handed me a paper that said recommended for approval. He asked if I could take my oath today and then asked me to wait downstairs for it.

- Case status got 4 updates since then... 1) We recommended N400 for approval 2) Your application was placed in line for oath ceremony 3) Oath ceremony notice was mailed 4) Certificate of Naturalization was issued

- I assume that it will switch to approved in the coming days.

- No additional documents were requested. At no point did I submit tax transcripts or was requested to do so. Only evidence I ever provided was, marriage certificate, green card copy, traffic ticket copy, selective services copy and the passport copy. Filed under 5 yr rule. No RFEs

 

Total time from mailing date to oath ceremony is exactly 4 months. Overall great experience. Was in and out in 1 hour. I am happy to have concluded my journey to the citizenship and that I will no longer have to communicate with the USCIS.

 

Thank you all who have helped me throughout my journey. I will be staying here hoping to help someone else.

 

P.S wanted to update this thread as well in case someone comes upon in later. I did post elsewhere yesterday.
