WHEC-TV—Rochester, NY

The Guardian Angel Day Care has been licensed since September 1999. Tuesday, that license was revoked and suspended.

The day care is located on Clay Avenue in the city. The owner and operator is Ana Powers.

Sources with the Rochester Police Department and Monroe County Child Protective Services say an employee at the day care came forward accusing Powers of mixing Benadryl with strawberry syrup and milk and serving the mixture to the kids. Benadryl is an over the counter drug that can act as a sedative.

This is one reason why I stick with education as a career...my work schedule is the same as my daughter's school schedule. I'm off when she is, work while she's at school, no need for anyone to watch her while I work or during the summer when school is out.

This and the other freaks that run daycares and harm the kids that go there is the reason i am the only one working so my husband can stay at home and care for our 2 year old.

Ah! We drug kids all the time. You should see the mass doping in elementary schools.

Although some kids have serious medical problems and need medication some parents find it much easier to put their children on medication than deal with behavior issues or be responsible for supplying their children with physical and mental exercise. Just drug them and sit them in front of the TV.........

Kids don't even believe they can behave or work without their medication. "I can't do that. I haven't had my medicine yet."

And we are suprised when they start doing "drugs" later on.

One thing that has been virtually done away with or taboo out of fear is the actual disciplining of a child by a parent(s). Medicating a child is easier to calm a child down rather than giving 'em a backhand like those of us who are older can remember when we were kids. Anything physical is now makes a person abusive. In comes the medication to aid the problem. Society no longer watches out for each other either. No one wants anyone else telling their kids anything whenever they catch them doing something that is obviously wrong. Otherwise, they get pissed off at that person. Being a father of 3 girls, I do not have any problems with them at their schools. They know if I found out they were acting out, I'm crazy enough to go sit in their classrooms all day in a bathrobe ;)

I've been checking out videos lately on YouTube about kids "baiting" teachers to the point where they completely blow-up and it's captured on video for all to see. Some of these teachers lost their jobs while the kids were laughing their arses off. I have to give props to you teachers and how you handle all of it. With the way kids are allowed to be these days and how much they get away with, I, seriously, could not do it. You'd see me plastered all over YouTube

Sounds like the flight attendant who asked the mom to drug her child and then threw them off the plane when she wouldn't comply. My sister and I witnessed a woman who tore into her daughter verbally, screamed at her, and told her she wasn't going to a party that night, all because this quiet little girl dressed up like a china doll dared to ask a question that I couldn't even hear while her mom was having lunch with another woman. If the little girl had been acting out previously, I'd understand some discipline, but so often it seems some adults expect kids to just sit there like zombies. Drug them, hook them up to the TV or video games, whatever, but heaven forbid they should run and play and ask questions and learn something outside of school!

I saw a documentary where a young boy with a little too much energy was given a hall pass maybe twice a day to just get out and walk for a few minutes. The administration supported this plan. Then he was able to come back and concentrate, and class disruption was minimized. If I had to set still at my job for as long as kids have to sit these days, with recess even being phased out in some cases, I think I'd go bananas.

Attention spans are down, childhood obesity is up, and on and on. That's significant.

They were just getting those little monsters started early.Think about it. A good percentage of kids will grow up to do it to themselves eventually. Whether it's prescriptions, cigarette, alcohol, or something worse, the odds are in the favor of abusing themselves. I want to send them a thank you note. Even still, most folks have bad kids that need to be drugged, spanked, and/or shot.
