I'm waiting on my NOA2.... I thought my lawyer had our visa process started back in Novemer 2006 but come to find out he left the law firm he was in and started his own firm with a few partners and he never sent in the paperwork until April 2007!! I have not seen my husband since October 2006 when we were married!! :crying: This has been a VERY long and difficult road for us. :(

I want to go to him in Kuwait now but I really want to be there for him for the interview so we are playing the waiting game now. :( I'm not a patient person at all but going through the process is teaching me to be but there are some days I just want to scream and pull my hair out!!

I agree LvivLovers. I decided to get a lawyer because I didn't want to take the chance of doing anything wrong because I wanted the process to move smoothly and quickly with no bumps but wow I think I hit potholes in the road and had to take many detours and also had to stop for a few railroad crossings!! The amount of money I paid for my lawyer with it seems that he would of acted quicker on sending the forms in!!

Sorry to hear that also and I hope somehow that yours will go quickly in the other steps. Things like this are the reason I decided to file everything myself...you can't trust anyone to care about your forms and things like you would yourself.

I initially started off with a lawyer but realized, she is just an another buracratic layer, I give her all the information to put in the form and then she takes two weeks to review it, I just fired her and did it all on my own with in a week. Lawyers are good for somethings but most of the time they want to charge you $2000 and add few more weeks to the layer.

Yeah I had planned to get a lawyer in the beginning because I was afraid I wouldn't know what to do or would make a mistake. I even called up a couple of the big firms and talked to them. But eventually, I started thinking about how almost every person I deal with on a daily basis either screws things up or tries to take advantage of me. I then started thinking how carefully I would be checking these forms since they basically control our fate! And then I pictured some young intern at one of these firms with a big stack of paperwork where we are just one of many forms! That was enough to make me decide to do it myself! Luckily I had also found VJ at this time! We'll see if we get an RFE or not! hahaha But really, I'd be happy to get anything at this point, because usually an RFE means you'll be done quickly once you fix whatever it is they want.

Wife's visa journey:

03/19/07: Initial mailing of I-129F.

07/07/11: U.S. Citizenship approved and Oath Ceremony!

MIL's visa journey:

07/26/11: Initial mailing of I-130.

05/22/12: Interview passed!
