Hi all just some quick questions - I'm planning to visit the UK next month and moved to the US on a K1 visa about 4 years ago. When I got married I didn't change my name on my UK passport (it's still in my maiden name) but otherwise all my ID's / Bank cards use my married name. I understand if I book under maiden name then it will not be an issue with the airline. Will I still be ok to travel on my own?

Also I'm in the middle of removing conditions from my Permanent resident status right now and my GC has expired, I have a copy of the letter proving I have the extension on me along with ID but will I need my marriage certificate just in case someone asks why I have a different last name on my UK passport? Has anyone had positive/negative experiences travelling like this?

Not without your marriage certificate.

Original required along with expired gc. State ID is useless.

Traveling on extension letters is a mixed bag.

My wife traveled like this for over a year and had no issues.  She always keeps a certified copy of the our marriage certificate with her.  Also, make a couple of copies of the extension letter, once my wife was asked by an airline check-in clerk and you need to the original along with the expired GC to show to CBP.
