Approved at the interview but CEAC says “refused”

Not sure if anyone is experiencing or has experienced something similar. Please comment if you have any additional information.

 

I was approved at my interview and told my passport would arrive in 2 weeks. 2 weeks was this past Thursday. I tracked my passport on Friday and it said it was preparing for delivery. I received the email yesterday that my passport was ready for pickup. I cannot get it until tomorrow since they are closed on the weekends. However, CEAC still says refused. Will CEAC update tomorrow possibly or is CEAC glitched?

And what is the problem?

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Verbal "approvals" are not approvals.  The only real indication of approval is when the CEAC status changes to "Issued". Please update us when you get more information.

Registered Nurse- Retired- I practiced in the areas of Labor & Delivery, Home Health, Adolescent Psych, & Adult Psych.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

The consulate might just be slow.....hopefully.

What consulate is this?

Who knows, we are talking about the federal government here.  Let us know what you get, hopefully it is just the CEAC system lagging.
