That might be why some CBP officers are hassling you.

Best wishes for your naturalization.

Hey Mike, while you maybe correct why CBP always stops me for second questioning and that gets me very anxious to travel outside the US even though its not vacation but very necessary trips considering my mom's health. What are your thoughts on chances of being denied citizenship as one has spend 8-9 months in total outside of US soil but no trip exceeding 6 months any any time... do you know of anyone who got denied citizenship on these basis even though they have spent less than 1 year abroad...

270 days absence in 5 years is nothing. There is no legal basis to deny naturalization for so absence. At 800 daya one should start to worry.

Oh wow... yeah.., no one in their right mind would hope to get approved after 800 days of absence. Not sure if any such instances are there but your words give me much hope for my situation. I deeply appreciate it but you know anything concerning immigration is always stressful cuz regardless of what rules and conditions their website says.., in reality they have a mind of their own and its very unpredictable... in my experience.. one should not expect that CBP at the POE will entertain anything unless there is any documentaional proof.. and yeah not having any definate set of days that you can stay out of the US without worring about losing your LPR status is worrisome all the way...
