WOW i don't know where the time has gone. Ramos has been after me to make a post about us crossing and i haven't had more than 2 minutes to spare.

But the prossess went ok but for you crossing in Detroit, do not go at 4pm. Its their shift change and we had 4 officers come up to us to help us and when they found out that we had a K1 Visa to process they said " Na I ain't doing that i am going home in a few minutes and the visa takes a abit of time to process." The officer we did get was the least scary of the rest. He didn't quite know what to do, so it took him a bit of time. I had my list of what was in my boxes that were in the truck and the list of things that were in the 5 boxes that i mailed from HK. They didn't even want to see it. Thank goodness. That was on the 15th of July. we were married on the 23 of July and adoped a dog on the 24th ......lol. Today I went to apply for a Social Security # and it was pretty painless. They suggested that I wait to get my drivers licence untill i get my card in the the mail. They said 7 to 14 days. Pretty smooth so far. We are currently working on getting the adjustment of Status, Advance Prole ( It makes me laugh that they call it that.) and the other one that i always forget......lol I think thats it for now. Everyone enjoy your day. I need a cup of tea after that.

Have fun all

Glad it was a relatively painless crossing! :D

What kind of dog did you get? Are there photos of the cute puppy?

Nini - Vancouver BC, Canada (she's the one who does the forum thing)

Bee - Devon PA, USA (he's the one who gave her the shiny ring)

I'm assuming you cross the border in your husbands US vehicle???? I know there's a post some time ago, but am contemplating bringing my vehicle over, which I think meets the standards. Thanks.

Yep, we crossed over in my truck, Nancy doesnt have a vehicle yet, we are trying to see how long we can get by with just one vehicle.

We adopted a cocker spanial from the Houston SPCA, he is about 5 years old and was "lost and found", he is sooo cute, I will post some pics this evening. He is a very socialable dog and listens quite well. We had him groomed last night as they did a terrible job of cutting his hair at the SPCA place.

Overall we are about 80+ % finished with getting the AOS,EAD, and AP documents finished, I think the only things we have left are signing everything, making a cover letter, and some photo copying of tax returns.

Sincerely,

Ramos

The kettle is SOOO important!! haha I had to take one with me from Canada and a tea pot as well. No one I know here in new jersey does a kettle or a tea pot. In fact, I have a hard time even finding tea bags that aren't single servings!! Some one once tried to serve me lipton tea and it was almost a cause for spitting out!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard
