Working Abroad

I am hoping someone can help me find some info about working. My fiancee is in the UK working for a UK based company. They would like to have her continue working there when she moves here, if possible. Does anyone know if it's possible for her to continue to work for an overseas company once she moves here and we are married? Any links or resources you have would be appreciated.

I believe (don't quote me on this, but I suspect others will back me up) she'll need to get her work authorisation first. She'll apply for that along with her Adjustment of Status and advance parole for travel pre-green card.

After being admitted to the U.S. on a K-1 nonimmigrant visa, your fiancé(e) may immediately apply for evidence of work authorization by filing Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization. In this case, your fiancé(e)’s work authorization is valid for only 90 days after his or her entry into the U.S.

Your fiancé(e) may also apply for work authorization at the same time he or she applies for a Green Card. In this case, your fiancé(e) can file Form I-765 together with the Form I-485. In this case, your fiancé(e)’s work authorization is valid for one year and may be extended in one-year increments.

 

BUT  the company must follow US regulations to do  business in the US

K1 has many disadvantages, not being able to work without EAD is a major one

Which will likely take more than 90 days to be approved. I suspect it has been over 10 years since anyone on VJ got those. In the golden era, CBP could grant work authorization at POE. VJ timelines even have a field for that.

Fiance or spouse  cannot legally work inside the US without either a Green Card or Employment Authorization Document.

Just quoting the USCIS site as the other poster didn't know what was allowed

and the OP is too far into the K1 to change to aCR1 

Case is already at NVC

and as an immigrant OP needs to file US taxes so any company must have a permission to do business here 

I know people work under the table but i also know others like to turn them into IRS for the monetary reward
