Anyway we can make it CRYSTAL CLEAR when a newbie joins that they CANNOT GET MARRIED before the K1 is approved and fiance is in the US? it seems lately every newbie thinks they can get married while waiting for the K1 and can still use the K1.

Isn't that the purpose of this site, to ask questions and find out the right way to do things?

Honestly, I'm not sure how much more we can do.

People have the onus of responsibility to understand the process that they're going through, whether it's K1, K3, etc. If they haven't even gone as far as to read the actual documentation from USCIS and understand what they're petitioning for, there's nothing that a support forum can do to make it any more clear to them.

We're here for advice and guidance - but it's really up to them to take it as they will. When it comes down to it, it's their petition and their lives - we can advise them, we have guides and flowcharts and example forms, but it's ultimately going to be up to them to learn the stuff.

Yes, AFTER you read the guides. It clearly says as much at the top of the page when posting.

Maybe a redesign of the home page to show IN BIG LETTERS briefly what the K1 is for and provide link for more in depth information. Do the same for a K3 and the CR-1/IR-1 and provide links. I dunno... that seems to be a way of helping newbies. Just a thought. :)

My point is, if they are seeking a K1, they already know its a FIANCE visa, we shouldnt have to answer 4-5 posts a day from newbies asking "can i get married while waiting for the k1 visa to process" im all for assisting ppl in questions and helping with solutions. But these are things ppl are asking more and more everyday.

YES, but it get annoying when ppl KNOW its a fiance visa, they just want someone to say its ok to marry while its processing. Obviously its not printed BIG ENOUGH in the guides. Or no one bothers to read it in the guides or the guides itsself

I think one of the annoying things about this are some of the ones giving not so good advice about the K1. There's a thread in the K1 forum now along this line:

Sure, like the wedding vs. marriage point, yet AGAIN.....

That is what spawned my post on this right now :)

its bad enough ppl are hoping they can get married while waiting for the FIANCE visa, its worse when they are given BAD advice on it.

Capn has already said it is a slippery slope, yet every time it gets posted, he lets it slide, again....bad form, IMO.
