Whether Receipt date is NOA1 Date for I 130 petition?

I filed online I130 petition on 17th January 2023 and got the receipt online in mail on same day on 17th January 2023 starting with "IOE" receipt number mentioning "This notice confirms that USCIS received your application or petition ("this case"). Nowhere on the online receipt "I-797" is mentioned. And also I did not receive any physical mailbox notice copy. Then status changed to "Actively Reviewing" on 9th March 2023. So my questions are:

1. Whether I should consider NOA1 data as 17th January 2023 or 9th March 2023?

2. Whether USCIS do not mention "I-797" anywhere in the receipt notice?

3. For online I130 submission, whether USCIS do not send physical copy of the "I-797" receipt notice?

Need this info for getting more clarity and tracking the i130 CR1 processing times in this forum.

1. 17th January 2023 (it's equal to the "receipt date" on the top left side of the receipt form)

2. Don't know what you mean. The receipt notice actually is the I-797 form.

3. We petitioned online and beside the online form they've also sent a paper version per snail mail. Maybe it's not always the case, though.

Have you already created an USCIS online account? You can find all the information of your case there.

Thanks for prompt response.

1. 17th January 2023 (it's equal to the "receipt date" on the top left side of the receipt form) --> So should I consider 17th January 2023 as NOA1 date?

2. Don't know what you mean. The receipt notice actually is the I-797 form. --> I found over internet that there is "I-797" printed on the receipt notice, so just wondering, how "I-797" is not there in online receipt notice.

3. We petitioned online and beside the online form they've also sent a paper version per snail mail. Maybe it's not always the case, though.  --> Surprisingly I have not got the paper copy of the Case by snail mail.

I have already created online account at USCIS for tracking the progress. It is currently showing 7 more months for processing.

Yes, this is also your "priority date" (PD) which they use to calculate the estimated processing time of your case and so on. But be aware that their processing time is not accurate in many cases.

That's right. It's not on mine on the USCIS account version either, just on the printed (snail mail) version.

Thanks for the information. Yes. Receipt date and Priority data are same as 17th Jan 2023 in the receipt notice.

when u do online petition,  u pay by debit/credit card,  therefore the funds can be checked as immediately available and receipt date will be the same as the day u sent (depending only on time zone differences)

when mailed in and paid by check the check must be for the right amount and funds verified before USCIS will issue a I 791 with receipt/ priority date

and if amount is not correct the whole package is returned for incorrect payment

but still the receipt date/priority date are the same

u may or may not get the mail notice so u should print out that email (online) notice for your records as u may have to refer to it in the future
