"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

no worries Rich :) I used to teach American Government. When teaching the Bill of Rights - I do a bunch of ACLU stuff for my kids. Working in the "Ghetto" my kids are ALL ABOUT their rights!

Actually I think every American should read this website and know what your rights really are. It's VERY informative.

This is just for traffic stuff - but the ACLU's website in general is awesome.

ACLU - What to do if you are stopped by police.

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

I'm behind the ACLU 100%. Even though they completely ignore the second ammendement.... I guess even they pick and choose in the constitution. :)

1. Never give a cop permission to search your car. EVER!!!! If they are asking they don't have probable cause for a search.

2. Rohypnol is illegal here and is a date rape drug.

The only reason he let the cop search the car was because he's never done anything wrong before and really had no idea he still had those pills.

And I know it's illegal there, but when he had the prescription to board the plane with those 4 pills, he just boarded the plane with them and forgot about them. I know it was wrong and that is why I'm so nervous. I'm not trying to say they should let him get away with it.... paying a fine or even doing comunity service would not bother us at all. I know it was irresponsible of us to forget about those pills. I just don't like the fact he could go to jail for it, knowing that he had no intention of selling, using or raping anyone. It was prescribed as a anti depressant and that was the only thing he'd use it for.... I just hope the judge will believe that.

I'm on your side. Lesson learned for all of us. I don't think he did anything wrong. I hope he gets out easy. Get a note from the doctor in Brasil.

Best of luck.

Yeah I have always thought that way too, and so has Dave. He has actually a mental disorder and one of the "effects" is that it causes him to be EXTREMELY honest (which sometimes annoys me!!) about everything he does. He doesn't allow himself to make mistakes or do anything wrong. Which is one of the things he was bring treated for because it can be a real problem sometimes. Isn't it Ironic?? ;)

The only reason he took those pills with him was because 1) He had to stop taking them gradually... like any other drug. He just couldn't stop taking them overnight; 2) He needed the pills for medical reasons (extremely serious one at that time by the way), so we contacted the airline and they said he should present a prescription before boarding the plane.

Thank you for all the posts people..... for real! He's going to get in the court room in 15 minutes. I hope he's confident and calm enough to explain everything and I really hope the judge had great sex last night!

I'll let you guys know how it went!!

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Oh thanks but he's already off of them! First thing he did when he got there was to go to the doctor and start treatment with a non addictive (legal  ) drug. At first they thought it'd take a month for him not to feel like he needed them anymore, but the withdrawal simptoms only lasted 1 week! He's on Seroquel and it's wonderful as he has never had any side effects and taking one everynight keeps him axiety free all day.

Now with the news..... the thing was rescheduled to May13, so 1 more month to worry about this!

He got there and was told what he's being charged with (which we already knew....) . And they didn't say the reason why they were going to reschedule it.... but they did so we'll only know what's gonna happen a month from now. That gives the lawyer more time to work on the case..... but it also gives us more time to stress about it! Anyway, I still appreciate all the posts and help I got from you guys..... a month from now you'll hear me talking about it again I'm sure.... lol Until then I'll try to not stress so much because they lawyer seems pretty confident.
