We don't have a song really but at the wedding we danced to the Kinks - Waterloo Sunset (seeing as we met/dated in London).

Good choice. Actually apart from my gratuitous Muppets reference, the song my wife and I probably enjoy the most is Come of Eileen, because it has gotten played during some good times.

Hubby loves the 60s so the Kinks it was...

 Great choice, I love The Kinks

Wow, I was just thinking about posting the same sort of question last night. Weird.

Our song is "Follow Through" by Gavin Degraw. When Rich first came to visit we went to the mountains and it was the only CD in my car and we listened to it all weekend. It is so appropriate, because my moving to England for the last year was a big risk and I was scared to death, but he was counting on me to follow through and thank God I did. He also followed through on his part of the deal, which was, if I come to England and it all goes smooth and works fabulously, then we move permanently back to Colorado.

If you haven't heard this song, listen to it, its great. It's going to be our first dance!

YES!! That song is so amazing!! We too had the gavin degraw CD played constantly through our first few months together. I think that song, along with Lifehouse - You and Me, are our 2 songs!

Josh and I don't have a song, mainly because we're nearly always listening to music, so nothing stands out above the rest for "us". He has lots of songs which remind him of me, because I am generally listening to the MTV Dance/Base channels in the background when talking to him (all those Brit/European songs that he doesn't get to listen to over in the US). There are a few which make me think of him whenever I hear them.

"Stone Sour - Through the Glass" - It's a bit of a mixed song for me... it was played almost constantly on the radio during my February visit to the States and reminded me of being in the car with him on the rather long journey to our little hotel honeymoon... sadly it was also repeated over and over on the inflight-radio on the flight home. As time goes on, the sad memories of sitting on the plane wishing I was still in the US with Josh seem to be clouding the happier memories associated with this song.

"Snow Patrol - Set Fire to the Third Bar" - The words to this song seem to mirror exactly how we feel and what we are going through. It is also a truly beautiful song. This song should have been listed first, but I wanted to paste the words for those that haven't heard it.

I find the map and draw a straight line

Over rivers, farms and State lines

The distance from A to where you'd B

It's only finger-lengths that I see

I touch the place

Where I'd find your face

My fingers increases

Of distant dark places

I hang my coat up in the first bar

There is no peace that I've found so far

The laughter penetrates my silence

As drunken men find flaws in science

Their words mostly noises

Ghosts with just voices

Your words in my memory

Are like music to me

And miles from where you are

I lay down on the cold ground and I

I pray that something picks me up

And sets me down in your warm arms

After I have travelled so far

We'd set the fire to the third bar

We'd share each other like an island

Until exhausted close our eyelids

And dreaming pick up from

The last place we left off

Your soft skin is weeping

A joy you can't keep in

And miles from where you are

I lay down on the cold ground and I

I pray that something picks me up

And sets me down in your warm arms

And miles from where you are

I lay down on the cold ground and I

I pray that something picks me up

And sets me down in your warm arms

Cheryl

What a lovely story! Thanks for sharing!

Gosh... we have a few bands that do it for us! Porcupine Tree, Blackfield I guess are the two that really started us off!

As of late on road trips we do Electric Light Orcestra....it is so funny to see a 6ft8 man so giddy to some of their songs!

All You Need Is Love...

I am a wife!! Whoa this is weird!

Our song is "My Heart Belongs to You" By the Bully Boys. ... it describes us perfectly. Down to the sweet little girl that is daddy's pride and joy.

Momma don't worry, Daddy's alright

Been a long day, Commin' home tonight

I know it's a struggle, When I'm not around

Gotta make ends meet to stay alive.

Dealt with a lot over the years

We shared many smiles, Shed a few tears

We built a foundation to weather any storm

and nothing can tear it apart.

We lived a life both high and low

watching our family grow

The best days are yet to come

and this I promise to you.

The good times the bad times

and the trials that we've been thru

You're alright you know I'm alright

My heart belongs to you. (2x)

Sweet little child you're Daddy's pride

In me you can always confide.

You bring me inner peace and faith

your smiles me the world to me.

Anger and neglect you'll never know

in safety and happiness I'll see you grow

My hearts filled with pride and joy

when I hear your sweet little voice.

The good times the bad times

and the trials that we've been thru

You're alright you know I'm alright

My heart belongs to you. (2x)

My heart belongs to you,

my heart belongs to you,

my heart belongs to you,

My heart belongs to you.
