My son and his family came into town for the weekend so we took my wife and my mother and his family out for dinner last night (got a jump on the Mother's day rush).  I'm sure he and my daughter will spend some time with their mother today.  

 

My wife's daughter lives across the state, about an hour and 45 minutes away.  We were supposed to go over there yesterday but my wife had a headache so we cancelled out of that.  Thank goodness because those grandkids are....WILD.

 

Of course I am not a mother, but I have been called one a couple of times...

WHY MOTHERS SHOULD BE YOUNG

 

Thanks to new fertility technology, a 65-year-old friend of mine was able to give birth.  When she was discharged from the hospital and went home, I went to visit.

 

"May I see the new baby?" I asked.

 

"Not yet," she said.  "I'll make coffee and we can talk for a while first."

 

Thirty minutes later, I asked, "May I see the new baby now?"

 

"No, not yet," she said.

 

After another few minutes, I asked again, "May I see the baby now?"

 

"No, not yet," replied my friend.

 

Growing very impatient, I asked, "Well, when CAN I see the baby?"

 

"When he cries!" she told me.

 

"When he cries?!" I said.  "Why do I have to wait until he CRIES?"

 

"BECAUSE I FORGOT WHERE I PUT HIM, OK?!"

We have 4 mothers working in our Internet dept. I was just telling them it amazes me they come to work every day and deal with craziness they deal with. Then go home, do supper homework etc. 

 

I spent 5 hours today with my wife's godson. It was exhausting.  I love the kid but, it was non stop questions . Look at this game Uncle Bill. 5 hours of not 1 minute of not having to pay attention to him.  Add to it 2 Filipina women talking non stop at 140  db in the background.  I loaded him up on Krispy Kreme, Ice cream and milk duds and sent him home to dad.

 

For those married to Filipinas, you get the 140 db comment.

The wife's son lives half a world away, and even though Russia does not celebrate Mother's Day until November 26th this year (last Sunday in November) he remined her when they talked yesterday.  Unfortunately for both of us now, neither of our mothers are still with us.  Beyond that, it is just the spoiled rotten yellow Lab at home now.
