Please help me get a good Webcam website. The problem I am having is that the computer locks up and the signal is choppy. We have tried Yahoo, MSNmessenger, Skype (almost damage the computer), Camfrog. None are reliable. Anyone know of any other free Webcam chat websites?

Nov 15, I got email at 6:57pm that our package was sent to Rio from NVC.

DON"T WAIT FOR THEM TO SEND ANYTHING, CALL AND MAKE SURE THEY GOT IT.

IF THEY DO, GO AHEAD AND SEND IN ds230,ds2001, the pics, and copy of passport

USE SEDEX AND GET THE TRACKING NUMBER.

Interview Set: Jan 29. Found this out on the embassy website under VISA's. It shows a list of visa types including K1 and shows the interview dates.

Visa granted but they mailed it using their own package delivery service. Took a week. Have money when you go to the appointment. They may also make you go and get more photos taken if they dont like the pics you bring. Just relax and dress wark because they keep the place really cold. Make sure your financials mmet the criteria or they will eat you alive.

MARRIED March 22. Sent in $1,010 in fees to Chicago to get change of status, apply for advanced parole, and ability to work documentation. Things work faster now.

We use skype. Almost no issues with skype - but there are issues with the connection and the computer.

Maybe you need to upgrade your computer and get a better connection.

Skype even works acceptably with a slow connection.

I'm a huge fan of skype and use it 30-45 minutes every day.

Since you're having problems with multiple webcam services, you might look for a problem with your computer. Your webcam really shouldn't lock it up.

I have used skype since 2004 pre webcam support and since they introduced webcam.... I use it to keep intouch with my Parents and my adult kids and my grandaughter.... I also use it as just a telephone for calling international numbers..... very cheap calls...

I have never had any problems with the webcam or the call quality... so maybe you need to look at your hardware/conection....

I had the exact same problems as you did and now me and my fiance use yahoo still but i figured out that i need to buy a new cam. So i bought a logitech cam it cam with the software and a mircophone i think the total cost was $30.00. It was worth it and now i have no problem with the chopping or stopping with my cam. If its not the cam then it might be that your computer needs more memory you could always go to the store and buy more memory on a memory card and add it to your computer. Good luck!!

Have you given your computer a good cleaning? I use MSN and Skype...and as with any service..you're going to have some problems... go to your START MENU....then RUN...and then type in %temp% and hit the ENTER button. All of those little files in the %temp% folder can be deleted. All it is, is a place where your computer is "taking pictures" of what you've used and where you've been more or less. Also if you go to your control panel...click on INTERNET OPTIONS...and go to DELETE...click ALL (and check the box)...that will get rid other stuff ya don't need. Try that...after you are done cleaning.. shut down your computer...and reboot. Your pc should actually run a little smoother after that...and the IM programs should run better as well.

The speed and memory available in the video card often has more to do with webcam chat problems than anything else. I have three computers. One of my laptops just doesn't have the video capacity to handle a webcam. Yahoo Messenger works fine for us.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

I've never had any trouble using webcams on any computer. Choppiness is likely to do with the connection on one or both ends. If you don't have at least basic DSL or Cable on both ends, don't expect good speed or quality. But distance does add some latency, usually its not noticeable, but sometimes it can be.

As far as your computer locking up, it could be a dozen different things. Definetly need more information.

Webcams have been around for a long time, you don't need much of a video card to use a web cam. However, if the drivers are faulty or old, that can cause an issue.
