Right now it's taking longer than it did a few months ago ( look at March filers with no approvals yet ).Speculation with the fee increases, workload etc. seems to just add to the uncertainty with the immigration service. If I had to do it all over again I would have either gone just the CR-1 route ( and waited a little longer with the AOS and EAD already done) or I would have brought her over on a K-1 (fiance) visa, which seems to be the quickest path with less paperwork.

There is a great feature on this site called immigrations timelines, they will give you a fair estimate.

Just select K-3, and filter for "Canada" and the service center you will be Using, probably VSC.

I would recommed the K1 for sure.... All the January filers from here are with their spouses now. I know this because I was a k1 filers and got caught in the imbra m ess and then married and then now I am doing the whole thing over and I am behind so much its not even funny. Do a k1, less papers and much easier

depands where in canada , Montreal or vancuver am not sure about the K3 , as yu and dan avised look in timeline

but as in my case K1 from montreal got a backlog 5-7 month from when they resive package 3

( I just mailed package 3 resived an e mail min 6 month till interview once they open the package wich they wont for another 2-3 weeks since its in the new mail pile, they only open new mail 2-3 weeks after resival thats what the e mail said ),

so eather way if you have to go trough montreal ( depands on the fiances residence )be prepared to waite in line for a few eh yeah lonnnnnnnng time if its montreal

Something no one mentioned... you are saying "potential wife", which means you cannot apply for a K3 (that's for legal spouses); but you can apply for a K-1, fiancee visa. In Canada, most cases are handled by Montreal (6 month wait for interview after sending in "pkacet 3", and some in Vancouver (you have to prove residency there, otherwise it goes through MTL).
