Supposed to receive 10year GC

Question. I sent the paperwork to remove conditions in July 2021 and received the extension letter 10 days later. According to timelines, I was supposed to receive either “a letter for interview” or a 10 year GC in the mail. Instead, I got another 2 year extension letter. Putting me in a 4 year conditional GC.
Anyone going through the same? My stuff was sent to the CA office. I wonder if at this point it’s better to apply for citizenship already.

Timeline

Wife entered US via CR-1 in June 2017

Filed joint I-751 in March 2019

Filed N-400 in Aug 2022

I-751 and N-400 both approved during combo interview in Dec 2022  (only 4 months after filing the N-400).

Wife became a US citizen in Jan 2023.

I would apply for citizenship asap.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

You will receive an extension letter for the period that you are not still approved.

48 months is the new Extensions.

As @Crazy Cat mentioned, when applying for citizenship the things are moving much more fast. I applied to I-751 June 2021. Applied for citizenship January 2023, Marcha 2023 Interview for the Citizenship and they not even interviewed me for the I-751, they approved the ROC and citizenship. Taking my Oath in a couple of days.

Remove of Conditions are taking too much time. Some people are waiting for 4 years.
