hello everyone, I entered the country in 2019 with a K1 visa.  We got married in 90 days.  Unfortunately, due to some health and economic reasons, and as it is known Covid was also a reason, we could not apply for AOS.  In February 2023, we made the AOS application together with the lawyer.  I'm really in a panic mood right now.  Applying for AOS after a long wait this makes me panic over time.  Anyone with experience waiting a long time and applying for AOS?  Our lawyer says everything will go great.  but I wanted to consult here.  Thank you from now.

As long as you got married within 90 days of your arrival to the US, you fulfilled the visa. The problem was the limbo status you put yourself in for the past 4 years. Since you've filed, there is no issue. Now just sit back and wait.

Thank you so much. Yep. Exactly I miss being a normal person.

You should be fine. Have you included new medical exam I-693? They won’t accept the one from K-1 as it’s been over a year since you had it.

We did not include I-693.  so I'm waiting for an RFE or When we go to the interview, I will go with the new exam.

maybe that's only good thing.

Exactly.  There are no other benefits in waiting to file for adjustment of status.  It delays the ability to travel outside the US, delays, ability to legally work, and delays eligibility to apply for US citizenship.  Good luck.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Although it is food new in OP's specific case (not having to file I-751),  I would not advise anyone to purposely place themselves in OP's situation.   There are nightmare stories of being detain by local law enforcement and ICE, plus the constant fear of being caught out of status.
