Ok to leave blank, but it won't hurt if you hand-write "N/A" anyway.  For our petition, we only put "N/A" on the 1st item of the section.  Example, for interpreter's address, "N/A" for street number, blank for all other address fields.

Still select/mark item 1a, even if you also mark item 2.

Oh, wow. You just saved me from potentially making another COLLOSAL blunder. Obviously now, I also check and fill out my name here since I am preparing it on her behalf?

Yes, put your name in part 4, item 2 and fill out part 6, if you intend to sign as form preparer.

Thank you; will certainly do!

FINAL daft questions of the night --

1.) For Part 1, 2: Do I put our online USCIS Account number now hat we have one or just leave it 'n/a' as it would have been at time of original filing?

2.) For the USCIS cover slip I have to submit w/ my revised I-130a form, do I check 'additional forms' or 'other' or neither? I'm just submitting our redone I-130a. If no address change, do I just write 'n/a' in both boxes?

Thank you again SO much for all your help and insight on this late Sunday evening! 🙏🥺

The sponsor if a USC does not have a A-number to put on the form.   Just looking at my scan of the document,  seems i checked Part 4 item 2,  but failed to put my name there.  I did not add any note about my spouse being outside of USA (other than the Address history showing her current address not in USA).   I also did not bother writing N/A or Not applicable to any of the items.  Just make sure you include all 7 pages (including the empty page 7).

Can anyone please answer my second question re: the cover form I need to supply with I-130a redo? And is OK if I resubmit a typed out and signed copy of the I-130a form or should I rewrite by hand so it matches my original paperwork? Thanks in advance.

Thanks to the helpful advice and feedback from this community, I am officially ready to mail in my RFE for my wife's I-130A; I'm just stuck on what to check off / fill out (if anything) on the provided coversheet.

I'm just providing our redone I-130A form. Do I include that under 'other' as shown below or just leave everything blank?? Is it necessary to add my own, short, accompanying letter, thanking them for their time / explaining the included materials? Or is that just superfluous? Please someone help me with this, its almost been a month since I received the RFE and I don't want to waste another day. I just don't want to mistakenly fill anything out wrong again (or not at all). Thank you immensely in advance for your time and any insight!

Have you gotten this figured out? Asking because I have the same issue and need to make sure I submit it right this time 😰🤞

I had similar issue… Resolved by me downloading and completing the latest I-130a, with no signature as I’m overseas, and my USC husband printing and mailing it back with the RFE letter.

Hello there. Sorry for the late reply! YES -- everything went PERFECT with the RFE I-130A (re)submission. We were approved eight days after receiving! I was in genuine shock and elation. I ended up submitting a very short cover letter JIC and just rewrote everything by hand. For the USCIS provided cover letter I did also end up checking off "other" and just writing 'I-130A'. Again, don't know if this was absolutely necessary but I figured definitely better be safe than sorry.

Hope this helps! Good luck to you and your submission!

Yep! That's more-or-less what I did. I just signed as the spouse's petitioner and made sure to write 'N/A' in any boxes that did not apply to us.

Great thank you! Do I need a cover letter? What did yours say?

You're welcome! I honestly don't feel that you *need one but again I felt it couldn't hurt to include one so that's what I did. (It also just shows appreciation for their extra efforts, etc.)

"Dear USCIS officer,

Please find the enclosed revised and corrected I-130A form, completed in full.

I sincerely thank you for your time and for allowing me to fix my previous errors. If any additional information is needed on my part, please do not hesitate to reach out and ask.

Thank you again, XXX"

And I included my reference number, etc. There's plenty of available examples if you search online.

Hope this helps! 🙂

Would you say it has to be mailed or is it okay to scan and submit online? I see my online account is prompting me to upload the evidence - this is so scary because it says I only get 1 chance!😭😭😭😭
