You printed, https://www.sss.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Status.pdf filled it out, mailed it, and received a SIL in mail from SSS?

No I did not, for the very simple fact which is they don't send status of info letter to those who are older than 31 because they are out of the age window! They do that to those who are younger than 31 and failed to register, I am not.. I don't know why are you insisting to argue with me over this, I am older than 31 and showed proof I was not in the USA during age of registration and provided letter stating that i am older than 31 and i shouldnt be asked for that matter based on the uscis policy... if you have advice for me I would appreciate it rather than arguing try to proof your right!

I know that is 100 percent incorrect.

The difference between you and me is that I took oath.

Good luck with your citizenship journey.

Now what does that mean!! At some point you was not a citizen then you took the oath and became one, you went through the same journey we are going through now! so your not superior or better than those who are waiting... all you was doing here is trying to proof your right rather than helping! You keep going around trying to proof that I answered the rfe wrong when I didn't... you know I am older than 31 and out of the selective service question basis and why the officer went that route with me knowing I'm older than 31( which was my original question) and if I should ask for service request cause she obviously made a mistake or what should I do, instead your arguing with me over my age and over what I should have responded to the rfe! I shouldn't have got rfe for that matter to begin with... anyway thank you

what you should do it go to:

https://www.sss.gov/verify/sil/

and follow process to get a proper status information letter (SIL).  Do not mention the age 31 rule in your request to SSS. Instead state that you were never in the U.S. before age 26.

In 2 weeks you will get a proper   SIL

Thank you, but thats not what my rfe telling me to do! The rfe basically saying if i am age 26-31 to provide the status of info letter, but I am not! Why should I send something the rfe telling me only to send if I am younger than 31!! ....And that was not my question to begin with... my question was why the officer violated the uscis policy by asking for a proof of something I'm not to be asked about? She either did that mistakenly or purposely and im both cases doesn't make it right to delay my case on a mistake on her end, and was wondering if I should call and ask for service request or what procedure should I take. And thank you

Indeed. Similarly why  send https://www.visajourney.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=74935 ? But you did, so now I am advising damage control. A properly worded request for a SIL will produce a response from SSS:

* they have no information that you were in the U.S. before age 26, and/or

* you were not required to register

IME, SSS

1. sends dunning letters to men residing in the US aged 18 to 26 less a day until they:

* register

* prove they are not required to register

* age out

and

2. they keep these records for decades.

Thus if you requested a proper SIL SSS would likely confirm were not required to register.

Post the rfe minus personal info

my question was why the officer violated the uscis policy

This why one hires lawyers: so that they can remind ISOs of their duties.

Asked and answered twice.

The energy you are spending arguing with me could have been spent posting a proper SIL request by now.

I'm not arguing, I'm trying to understand because what happened in my case is very strange, I have many friends who got their citizenship without any issues regarding this matter and were never asked once about the selective service because they were all over 31 when they filed for citizenship! Why on my case I have to be asked about that especially when the officer knew I came to the country after the age of 30 cause she looked into my passport!

Folks, please stop bickering.

---

mero38, you're free to proceed as you see fit, including how Mike E recommends.

In general, it's best to take and follow advice from experienced members.  Perhaps try it. :)

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
