I know this question has been asked time and time again- but after asking myself and searching the forum I am finding different answers! When our fiance has their interview do we need to send them the I-864 (w/ I-864A if we need a co-sponser) or the I-134 (w/ an additional one filled out by a co-sponser if needed)?

I've been told (and seen) a yes (and a no) to both! Could someone please give me a definitive answer?

I. Which form do you need for the interview? I-864 (and I-864A) or I-134?

II. Is either form acceptable at the interview? (unlikely?)

III. Which form needs to be filed when applying for Adjustment of Status?

Also! I do not get paid a salary- I get paid an hourly wage- should I put my hourly wage or put an estimate of how much I make in a year? I haven't been working at my current job for a year. Should I just put how much I made last year- as bleak as it is? (I was only employed for the last two months of the past year).

Hopefully the answers will be helpful to more than just me. Thanks!

Thank you! I really appreciate it!

Believe it or not I called the Customer Service Center a while ago and the guy who I talked to told me I needed I-168A  (I asked him to repeat it several times to make sure that's what he said) and obviously had NO idea what he was talking about.

USCIS: bringing you the best quality in confusion everyday (with a smile).

Hi everyone, I´m from Spain and my girlfriend from Puerto Rico. I´ve discovered this awesome forum few days ago, and you´ve solved us a lot of doubts we had....but we still have million more

We´ve recieve the NOA1 in June 1st., and since then nothing yet  . But even without the NOA2 in my hands, I´m very very worried about the affidavit of support.... the reason are these:

1.She is not working now because she is on holidays with me here in Spain (she´ll return the next moth).

2.Before she came here she was studing....so there weren´t any incomes (she worked before, the last year, but not in this).

3.Our intentions are (when getting the K1 approved), to go to Florida to live, not to PR.

So...what do you think? :) ... really difficult right??. As you see we can only have one co-sponsor, she can´t be the first one because she hasn´t incomes....we´ve thought that maybe if she gets a job the next month there, maybe it could work??, I mean, would it be enough to be my first sponsor and also attach another co-sponsor in addition to her??. But is still one problem....i won´t go to PR, both of us will move to Florida, so there, none of us will have a work at the moment of moving....

Any idea of what can we do??? :help::help:

Thanks a lot!!!!!

Save whatever money you can in the mean time. But getting a co-sponsor should take care of your problems. Unless your fiancee has a lot of savings, she wont be able to sponsor you on her own without a job.

Thanks Dan+Gemvita!!!, that´s just what we´re doing, saving all the money we can. And if she gets a job in PR, she will do the same. We were worried about she probably can´t sponsor me, but at least we do have a "good" co-sponsor (we think so :P ) , so if this is not directly a problem, surely it will be fine .

Thank you so much.
