We received our NOAs physically in the mail today. The receipt numbers all start with IOE. I know this means electronic processing. I thought that on actual letters I was going to be able to find out which Center my case was transferred to so I could find out more about processing times ? Also I know some of you  guys got information about how to create an online account to track the case on the NOA letters. Mine doesn’t mention anything. How do I do this?

Which center first handles your papers has little impact on the processing time. It’s the LFO processing timeline that matters, I would focus on that.

You’re supposed to get a separate letter with an online access code to set that up.

We did not get the Online Access Code with our AOS NOA1.

We were able to request it at the USCIS site, and they emailed it to us.

See our Profile->Our Story or Timeline to see the sequence of events.

As mentioned above, it's your LFO that matters, not the service center where your package is first assigned.  If you don't know your LFO, enter your residential zip code here (scroll to the bottom) -- https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-a-uscis-office/field-offices

Filed: AOS (pnd) Country: South Africa

We are on the same boat ah ah. My application was received on the 28th of April. I just received my NOA1 letter in the mail yesterday, although the 485 receipt as missing even though it showed on informed delivery. Would check again later to see if it arrived. Was also expecting the online access code but found out by asking in several forums that it comes separately. How long it takes to come? I have no idea!

Update : received our online access codes today and biometrics is scheduled in 2 weeks! Our application was received April 27th. And the biometrics appointment is scheduled for may 24th. Now wondering if that’s a good sign and how long it will take after the biometrics for the other forms to be processed 😃

Biometrics are always scheduled very quickly, seems like standard practice

Yes I saw that here. Saw anything between 1-3 months so far for the biometrics. I still don’t understand the whole local field office thing though. Our local field office is Oakland park. That’s also we’re our biometrics is scheduled . But I can’t find a processing time for them. All I can choose to check processing times is Texas, California etc. our case number is IOE. Which office is responsible for my case so I can check processing times?

Biometrics are taken at an ASC center which is different from where your AOS interview will be at. ASC are just third party contractors they hire to take fingerprints and pictures.

Oakland park FL?

Hmmm ok I See. Yes Oakland park Florida... it’s our local field office apparently.I thought that’s where our interview would be at too cause this is the closest field office to me. But maybe I’m wrong.where do folks have their interviews? Just at those 4 or 5 mason offices ( Texas, California etc?) they are all far from where I am. How can i find out which office is responsible for my case though? I thought it was trough the receipt and case number but it’s IOE which apparently means electronic

Service centers don’t conduct interviews, it’s an LFO and that’s what determines processing times

Scroll down to field office locator at the bottom to see which your zip code belongs to:

https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-a-uscis-office/field-offices

In regards to processing times, Oakland Park FL is showing 23.5 months

Yeah, it’s Oakland park. Ok so then I know the waiting times . Wow that’s long long. If it really does take around 24 months it will be straight down to the 10 year GC I guess lol 🙃😅

Hopefully you’ll have it processed faster. My LFO was showing 15 months and ours got done in 7 months
