Call them an inquire what they will need, (probably a copy of the K1 visa in your passport, the marriage certificate, SSN and the EAD when you get it.) You would never have received any benefits until the EAD was approved from the AOS fyi.

I resigned from work on Oct 11, 2013 and moved here on Oct 22, 2013. I received the EI questions on Oct 29, 2013. I filled up, put the copy of my PR card and US visa and return the mail on Nov 1, 2013 with the envelope that they provided. I filled as I wont be available to work from Oct 12 to Oct 22, 2013 as I am preparing to work. But I am eligible to work from Oct 23, 2013.

I also received another letter on Oct 29, 2013 to fill up how much did I make from 2 weeks period (oct 13 to oct 19) and (oct 20 to Oct 26) in one small piece of paper. In another paper is for Oct 27 to Nov 2, 2013. I filled up ZERO for all these and return to them by the envelope provided.

Now I found in my EI account like that :

We have processed your report for the period ending Saturday November 02, 2013 which has resulted in a payment of $0.00 for this period.

Your next report for the 2 week period beginning Sunday, November 03 can be mailed on Friday, November 15. It is important to file your next report within 3 weeks of this date otherwise loss of benefits may occur.

No Employment Insurance benefits are payable to you as of October 14, 2013 because you are not considered available for work.

If you disagree with our decision, which is based on the Employment Insurance Act and its Regulations, a request for a reconsideration of that decision must be made in writing within 30 days of the date the decision was initially communicated to you. For more information on how to request a reconsideration, please visit www.ei-ae.gc.ca.

Please note that this is the most up-to-date information available in our system. Our Call Centre agents have access to the same information presented here. Any information processed on your claim today can be viewed online on the next business day.

For the next period, how can I report to them? Or what should I do next?

Thank you.

Yesterday was a holiday, so they would not have been open

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Doesn't hurt to try!! And as a k1--its not as if you can collect it right now anyway--until u get ur EAD!! All they can do is say no---and even then u can redress it!!
