I actually called that number on the 15th and left a message with my phone number and SIN, they haven't called me back. Does any one know how long they take to get back to you?

I've called that number twice in the last week, and both times they responded within hours, and were very helpful.

Hmm I applied and sent back the form asking for information on why I'm outside of Canada. I sent that back two weeks ago and not a peep from EI. Is this normal or do I need to call around? I figure I would give them a few days because of Christmas but I'm getting antsy now.

Doesnt hurt to contact them just to make sure, but like anything else with the govt, things move slowly around the holidays

Just got a voicemail from EI Canada, they called to let me know that they received my fax with EAD card and said it will take 2-3 weeks to review!!!!!! Are they serious!!! Another 2-3 weeks for review??? Anyone been in the same situation? Does it actually take that long? I applied back in sept after I POE'D, why would it take another 2-3 weeks?

i know this is silly, i faxed mine off today, and they told me the same thing, how long did it take them to call you?

A few days, can't say for sure with the holidays. I'm hoping that they can back pay me from the date it shows on the card that it was apprOved, was approved on the 14th.

I just don't see why it would take 2-3 weeks for approval? It's not as if they can look into it being a fake card since it's just a faxed copy. Either way imma call em next week and check on the process, hate how you can't call them and get a person, always have to leave a message and wait for them to call back, me being on the west coast means they call me at 530 am......

What a disaster!!!

Called revenue Canada yesterday to make sure everything was in order and my case has been processed. Called this Danielle girl who left me the voicemail 2 weeks ago saying she received ead and it would be processed in 2 weeks.

First off she wasn't impressed that I called her direct line and informed me that I'm not supposed to call her directly anymore.

So after that she says my case is all up to date and they have my EAD processes but then she says that I cancelled my case back in oct and that I would have to re apply??????

After arguing with her for a few mins she's says that I applied on oct 3rd and cancelled my case oct 13th saying that I had found employment??? I wasn't able to work until dec 14th what the heck?? She keeps telling me I must re apply and I keep telling her I never cancelled. She puts me on hold again then says " yup you called me on oct 13th and told me you found a Job at 843 am, I spoke with u directly" I'm on the west coast, she's in Ontario, that would mean I called her at 543 am to tell her I found work even tho I wasn't able to legally work?

The convo is starting to get heated amd I keep telling her she made a mistake and that I'll show you my phone records to prove it but she doesn't wanna hear it. She puts me on hold again them says my case has been re opened but must be sent to a tier 2 agent for examining??????

I'm glad to see nothing has changed with the gov't of Canada since I've left lol.........

I'm gonna call on fri again to see what they say this tIme.

they told me they would back pay to when my ead got approved then told me that i haven't been doing my cards which i have but then said we could do them by phone so i did that, and then i only got paid for 5 days? it it going to trickle in or am i suppose to get all the back pay at once?

I got my EAD last week, YAY! I faxed it off to EI as instructed, along with my SSN just in case. What are the current timeframes to start receiving payments?

3-5 weeks they wont pay you for the first 2 or 4 i forget what it was

Just wondering how it all works when I quit my job to go to my husband? I've been married for almost 4 years and have been stuck here in Canada for almost 2. Can I still collect EI as I will be getting my 10 year green card?

get your employer to note on your ROE that you left because you were moving with your spouse and you will be good. just dont quit too soon, i left 2 weeks before i moved and was fine

Is anyone else waiting for a phone call to do their EI "cards" today? I left a message at the Interstate number eariler, and now when I call them their mailbox if full.

I'm PST and it's after 1 pm already. I think the Interstate office is EST. Does anyone know their office hours, and how long should I wait around today?
