I can't seem to log in online. Is anyone else having any problems assessing the online services. I created an account the other week but ever since I can't even pull up the page to sign in! Any help would be appreciate. Also when I called the interstate office I had to leave a message and it took them over a week to call me back! I really hope I am approved for EI, we still have applied for AOS as we are waiting on the doctor to complete my vaccination supplement so from the looks of it I won't be working unitil December if I'm lucky!

go to "My Employment Insurance online" (right side of screen)

scroll down to "Access My Service Canada Account"

Hey all,

I have another question. On my husband's paperwork from the EI people, it has this question:

If you are not a US Citizen, do you have a working visa issued by the Government of the US authorizing you to accept employment from the US? Y or N

He doesn't have the EAD approval yet. So my guess is that we have to put no, but I just wanted to check with all of you wonderful experts.

On the chance that we are somehow supposed to mark Yes, the next question asks:

If you have a working visa for the US, provide your visa number...

what would that be?

...and a photocopy of the front and back of the document.

what would the document be?

Okay, just spent some time reading back a few pages. It seems we can be considered work authorized, so we will put yes there, but I'm still confused as to what his visa number would be. Would that be the K visa number? Or something on the I-94?

Yep. Just put in the K-1 visa number. You'll have to send them a photocopy of the K-1 and I-94 anyways.

When i did it back in 2005, it was easy! I was a cr-1 so it was very straight forward, because there was never a question if i was work eligible (i am,lol) It is a fairly simple process, bu tlike any other govt office, not always the fastest!

My due date is around May 4, 2008. I am hoping all th paper work will be done, and I will have My K1 in hand before I am too far long to fly to my fiance.

If I do get the visa in time, should I just apply here for my maternity benefits, or wait until I go to myfiance then contact them letting them know I have moved?? I read thatyou can start the benefits 17 weeks before the babies due date. So I am hoping I can just start the mat. leave here.

I have filled out 2 reports already...it says online they are sending me the third but they still haven't made a decision on my claim.

How long does it usually take?

it takes about 2 weeks for them to decide once they get a copy of the work authorization.. or thats what they told me at least.. then they send you all of the checks at once for the weeks they were being withheld
