We've been enjoying slightly cooler days (i.e. temps are now in the lower 90s!!). But we need rain!!! (Not this Friday though as it's HS football night and my son's marching band will be at the game).

08/19/08: USPS attempted delivery

08/20/08: TSC received N400

08/21/08: TSC cashed check

09/02/08: Received NOA...........Priority date: 08/20/08

09/02/08: Received Biometrics Notification

09/18/08: Biometrics completed - Charlotte DO

10/24/08: Received Interview Letter

12/08/08: Interview @ 1:00pm. APPROVED!

01/05/09: Oath Ceremony 10:00AM. Now officially a USC!!!

We had a nice rain storm yesterday evening. You could have had it, we have enough rain now.

Nessa, sure it is frustrating, but you gotta hang in there. You are almost complete with this mess. Soon, I promise, it will be over with.

It's not that. It's a lot more. I'm frustrated I have to learn how things work all over again, because everything is different from Brazil. I'm frustrated because I used to have a good job, a higher position, to be taken seriously and to be respected as a professional, and now I am a nobody, like I didn't go to college or I have never worked before, or I'm just plain stupid. I'm frustrated because I don't have any friends, and considering my life style I doubt I'll ever have any. I'm frustrated with a lot more than only not being able to have peace of mind because my immigration situation is not resolved and anytime I can get bad news and be sent away from my husband.

NNOOOOOOOO!! You will NOT be sent away from your husband. I know it's difficult, but you are a very bright young woman and will learn the culture (or lack of) here. I think you're doing well! Have you made any friends at work? Maybe some military wives? Spouses of Charles' friends? You are so charming. You shouldn't having problems making friends at all. Is your degree good in the US? What is your profession?

Oh Honey, you are just going through a rough adjustment period. I cannot imagine how difficult that can be, but I know you are awefully brave and courageous . you do have a loving and supporting husband who loves you dearly. Not many can say that.

Things will get better at your job. Whatever good you do, it will be noticed. As far as friends, well, I know it is not the same thing, but you have them here in Blue Box, and I am sure plenty more in all of vj. Just know that you are loved and we are here for you whenever you need to be encouraged.
