My oath ceremony was today, on Friday, October 27, in San Jose, CA. It took 170 days since I submitted my N-400 in May.
Good luck to all of you who are still waiting.

Congratulations!!!  That's pretty fast.  Took my wife 172 days.

Great! That was an American-style oath ceremony, almost like a drive-through experience, with three queues of cars driving towards the officer and stepping outside only to take the actual oath.
It seems our field office is a bit slow. From the experiences of other people, they usually get their interviews within 3-4 months nowadays. It took me about 6 months to get an interview, and it was a worrying experience. I'm glad that it's over. I applied for the passport on the same day, and I hope it won't take another half a year to receive it :) Congratulations to you too!

  • 3 weeks later...

Hi all, has anyone not had the oath ceremony on the same day?  Unfortunately, the systems were severely down the day of the interview so I got approved online a few days later and am now waiting to hear back the date and details of the oath ceremony.  Had all been up and running, I would have had the oath ceremony the same day and be done.  My question is - how long was it between the interview and the oath ceremony?  I'm hoping it's soon.  I had my interview on Dec 1st.  Thanks.

What time was your interview? If it is after a certain hour I understand you can't do same day oath, correct? Also, what field office?
