Wife applied 3 months ago. They replied to her via mail last week and said pay method was not payable, which is complete bs because form of payment and all relevant info were correct. She travels in 14 days. She’s also already paid for expedite but they haven’t cashed that check either.

what can we do now? We’re looking at losing out on plane tickets and passport fee and having nothing to show for it. Is there anything we can do or is this country a total 3rd world ####### hole now?

Contact a Senator's office and ask for help.  They have a rep who handles passport issues. For immediate travel, they can get you an appointment for a same day passport.  Good luck.  There is an extremely high demand for passports right now.  Took wife 6 weeks to get hers...expedited.

Did they give you any contact information to get in touch with them? Do you happen to have a copy of the application sent?

Of course no contact info because the USG doesn’t actually work for citizens. Yes we have a copy of the application and the check that was returned. It’s completely acceptable and followed directions to a T. After all her visa/green card/citizenship bull I’m so tired of dealing with such a hostile government

Did u notify bank u were using the card or writing a check to pay for the passport?

you may  have a limit on amounts like i put a $500 limit on cash out

If u don't like the US,  you are now both USC's and can live on any island or country that allow USC's residency /  just remember to file US tax returns

If you have any travel booked before the 3-week mark, you must contact the National Passport Information Center (NPIC) toll-free at 1-877-487-2778 (TDD: 1-888-874-7793) to make an appointment with the nearest regional passport facility for one day service. In this case, it will be the Houston Passport Facility.
