Hello!
My mother had her medical at St. Lukes's today. When they took told her vitals, her blood pressure was elevated.  They advised her to seek medical care due to this reason. They also give her a letter requesting medical certification from her doctor due to elevated blood pressure. My mother was nervous/stress about the whole process. Her interview is on May 18.  Tomorrow she is going to see a doctor to obtain medical certification.  My question is this going to delay everything?   Please advise

It should not delay.  Hypertension is not a disqualifying condition.

Did your mother complete her immunizations at SLEC?  If so, then she has cleared the visa medical.  The recommendation about her elevated blood pressure is just for the sake of her well-being.  Not an issue for her visa process.

My mother submitted a medical certificate for her elevated bp and completed her medical. Unfortunately, she will need to return next month to get a sputum test due to an abnormal X-ray. We had to cancel her May 18 visa interview and hope for the best so she can proceed with immunization and interview.

Sorry about your mother being tagged for sputum testing (I was too).  She only completed the first part of her medical.  When her sputum test results are released and she completes her immunizations, that's the date that will be considered her medical completion date.  Assuming her sputum test comes out negative (no active TB), she will have 3 months from the medical completion date to attend her interview, get her IR5 visa issued, and travel to the US.
