Does anyone know what the cut off day is to make next weeks shipping round? Using the Julian calendar, it appears our case was created on August 8th. Thanks for any information!

It takes around week and a half to process at the NVC. They might send your case soon,

Wait for them to process, like I said above it will take around week and a half and then they will ship it to the embassy. Start by preparing all the required documents.

Just got response today from NVC
They have received my package on August 3-4 I think. Last week!! How long will take them to enter my case in to the system? And should I send new inquiry again???? Please advise?????

To Whom it Concerns:

The National Visa Center (NVC) recently received your immigrant visa petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Your petition is now waiting for data entry into our systems.

Since your case is not in our systems yet, we cannot make updates.

As soon as your case is in our systems, we will send a Welcome Letter and instructions. Then, if you still need help updating your case, you can contact us by using one of the methods listed on https://nvc.state.gov/ask.

I am in the same situation for Paris and still waiting for the instruction letter since 2 August. Most people book anyway, but do it further away, London has many appointments, so you make sure they have your physical file (at least à month away) I think that the files do not necessarily leave at the same time as the in transit status, that is my theory, that the physical files can leave in the next batch at times. The notification from the embassy is just to make sure they have your physical file. It is just nerve wracking again to wait for a receipt notification while your case has been ready for 10 days now ...

What could I do next while I wait for the welcome email?

Should I fill out form DS-160?

The email you will get from NVC is about them shipping it to your embassy. Hopefully next week you will get it.
You can start filling DS-160. I would just say to wait to submit it when you case is shipped or turns ready, just in case.

They said they don't have the physical documents yet and once they have them they will send us à receipt notice with instructions. I am not the only one, there are about 5 people in that same batch. That's why I think the physical papers could still be at NVC and hopefully sent out next week Tuesday or Wednesday. All with a case "ready" status that appeared on 2 August after transit for a day on the ceac website... otherwise it is just something else related to the August holiday period or something like that. It is starting to stress me out, so I hope they will send that asap !
