Give them number of the headquarters or customer support number (if its a company). Give them supervisor's number if you have it. Get the number from old emails. Just some ideas.

All communication was done through the email, there isn't a number to give.

What's your embassy again? P3 is just the list of instructions the embassy sends out/first contact from the embassy for most embassies. The only one I know that require you to send something for it is Montreal.

There's no welcome letter from NVC, what we get is an email called K1-FTP with information about our case being shipped to the embassy (they only send it to the petitioner when they do ship it). That's usually incorrectly called the NVC welcome letter for K1.
If you have your case number from NVC, you can check the status on CEAC. No account needed. No Invoice ID needed. Just go to the tracker and select "immigrant" and add your case number (not the receipt number, the actual NVC case number).

Tokyo is the embassy for us. So far no email from them nor NVC to be honest (we got case number through an inquiry by email).

Just in case I sent an email to ask that they update our email addresses and to give us invoice ID.

so it would be an email from embassy to both or just the beneficiary?

Hey, all! Very sorry if this is a repeat question (I swear I tried scouring all 50 pages for the answer)... we received our case number via inquiry, not a welcome email directly from NVC (honestly not even sure if this is a thing...). Wondering if this email means anything or if now we just have to wait until "Case Ready" status to move forward with booking medicals, interviews and whatnot? If there is an email with additional instructions, about how soon after should I expect to receive it?

Also, I don't want to derail this thread too much with questions if it's not relevant to this group any more. Is there another group we "should" move to on this next step like how we moved from our respective filers group to this May 2023 NO2 group? (Not that I want to leave you guys 😉)

PS: Congratulations to everyone who received their case numbers recently. I'm not on here daily, but I see a lot of familiar names and I've been quietly creeping on your progress over the last few months. Makes me happy to see all of our journeys moving forward 🙂 Also, extending my sympathies to everyone still waiting... I know this process is so exhausting, but hang in there! It'll all be worth it in the end when you're finally together with your partner (this is what keeps me going).

My fiancé (applicant) got the "Welcome letter" from NVC, basically stating all the details that my case is going from NVC to assigned embassy. Nothing about instructions. Using the NVC case number I was tracking when the case was "ready". Case was "ready" on Friday, I gave embassy a time to get familiar with my case and today i got inpatient and email directly to them asking if I will get any directions of next steps, like "welcome letter" for beneficiary.

They got back to me litterly 1h after I sent them email with all the steps I need to take to make appointment and required documents.

It really depends on each embassy and location. So maybe email them directly?

After 83 days from our NOA2, today my fiancé received our case number through inquiry. I couldn't be happier, hopefully we will make it for the next shipment dates 🤞

Congratulations!!!

You don't need an invoice ID.
First things first, what's your status on CEAC?
- Go here: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=IV
- Make sure "immigrant visa" is selected
- Add your Case number from NVC
- Fill the captcha code and click submit
- See if it's "at NVC", "in transit" or "ready"

If it's "at NVC" = wait until next week shipment
If it's "in transit" = it's being shipped to the embassy and you should've received the K1-FTP email (the petitioner receives it)
If it's "Ready" = it's at the embassy and then you gotta research what Tokyo requests. The embassy will send a packet 3 by email usually and it's the instructions on how to proceed. Some embassies let you go ahead with DS-160 and interview scheduling before the packet 3, others not. It depends. Email them if you aren't sure.

I received NOA2 on 5/17.

After that I inquired for the first time after 30 days. On June 29th we got the "received but not in our system" response.

This week was our fifth time inquiring about the case number, we sent one every week and this last time we also attached a screenshot of the email received on 6/29.

I know it's very frustrating, but keep sending inquiries every week!

When was your last inquiry?

OK, so I'm officially starting to get slightly concerned now.. Still no case number after 91 days, and the NVC hasn't replied to our last public inquiry (sent nearly 2 weeks ago on July 26th). Anyone else over the three-month mark and still in limbo?

Ugh! I’m sorry, I know they’re taking longer to reply now but it does seem they decided not to reply this time to you. Did you send another one? Here’s me rooting you get an email next week with the K1-FTP about it being shipped to the embassy 🤞🏼You waited way too long.

Weird, I’ve seen the same reply today about 5 times already. Seems someone took the day today to reply people with this same generic message. What a waste of inquiry, I’m sorry!

Yes, my fiancee sent another inquiry off yesterday morning after we passed the 90-day mark. Fingers crossed, but I'm not holding my breath.. Some people I've been speaking to tonight in the UK K1 Visa Facebook group are reporting waits of nearly 120 days, so I'm resigned to another 3 - 4 weeks before we hear anything. Anything earlier will be a bonus!

They go by a set schedule usually right? So if they have created a case number for you, I imagine it would be sent out at the next timing?
