Applying for workers visa in Japan whilst waiting for I-130

My wife and I are currently waiting for an I-130 application to be approved. I am a US citizen and she currently resides in the Philippines. She is contemplating applying for a workers visa in the Philippines as she has worked there in the past. Will applying for another workers visa and working in another country have any negative impact on our current application with USCIS? What challenges will we encounter if/when it is approved and she is currently in Japan?

I assume your wife is from the Philippines and wants to apply for and work in Japan?

If so, this does not impact the I-130 and subsequent CR1/IR1 visa.  You may need to transfer embassies if she is still in Japan at the NVC step.

She worked in Japan before for 6 months or more?  If so, whether she interviews in the Philippines or in Japan, she will need police certificate from Japan and NBI clearance from the Philippines.  Also PSA CENOMAR/CEMAR for the interview.
