No reason to micromanage/ mandate changes ..

though I am hoping a new pronoun could also be chosen by the claimants to reflect the 3rd gender. …

The current “ pronoun preference “ feels” to me  like gender / cultural misappropriation of the male / female.

In such case a time frame should be defined: you cannot change pronouns unless 50 years have passed since your last change. 

 

In general, it shouldn't be a matter of whim. BTW, years ago I had a dream I could choose every morning when I woke up, if I wanted to be a man or woman. In the process, my whole appearance would change automatically depending on my choice. And that was way before it was mainstream, because I'm streets ahead.
