Reschedule oath ceremony

I knew this was going to happen. I told my wife to do the same day oath and we would get a urgent travel passport. 

 

But she took the advice of the interview officer after our combo interview. I wasn't there to interject. 

 

I'm currently at home with a broken leg. I just noticed that USCIS sent a notice through the mail. So I logged into her account and I saw that they scheduled her interview for May 9th. 

 

The USCIS officer I guess didn't schedule the date correctly. Or didn't do as promised. Who knows. 

 

Now I can't reach my wife as she's in middle of nowhere Philippines. I'm not sure how to solve this issue. 

 

Is it possible for her to miss the oath. Then reschedule afterwards?

USCIS will automatically reschedule her.

@JMPM when is she scheduled to return to the US?

 

@Mike E First, thank you for all the incredible support and knowledge you share--I still learn from you 11 years into this. Pardon my uninformed question (I think I know the answer...), but is there any way for JMPM to contact USCIS on behalf of his wife and tell them that she is out of the country?

   She's scheduled for May 19 to fly back. Thank you. She sent a letter via email that I mailed on her behalf. Let's see if they accept it and reschedule or it gets rescheduled on its own. I appreciate it

USCIS will reschedule one time without explanation.  I have read that if she misses 2 oaths without explaining, she will have to start from scratch.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..
