Laywer says to bring sealed envelope when I fly...what sealed envelope?

Hello lovely people,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I should've made an account a while ago just to say thanks to everyone for their advice, particularly what to expect when you go to the US embassy in London (actually will write a review on that shortly).

Anyways thankfully my visa journey is pretty much over, I'm flying out soon and ready to start my new life stateside. My wife and I had to engage a lawyer because of the financial sponsorship side of things, they've been super helpful. I asked them recently what I do when I get to passport control and they said I need to ensure I bring the SEALED envelope I would've received when my passport was returned with the visa inside. I did not receive this envelope. Slightly panicking but a bit of googling has brought to light that some visas are now done electronically and therefore no envelope is sent nor needed (source).

Can someone please confirm this is the experience they had?

Thanks again all,

M

Normally, when your PP is returned, there's the outside envelope and the inside one. The inside is always sealed. It must be waht your lawyer was referring to. Do not unseal it if you see it

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

It's helpful when you fill out your timeline: https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=447322

Many consulates were in the process of moving to electronic filed prior to the pandemic and went fully electronic during that time.  If you check the visa in your passport, under annotation in the bottom left next to your photo, it will say IV docs in CCD.
