Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum and just found the website while doing some research. Just looking for guidance from those who know better about processing times etc for filed i-130 for married son over 21yrs of age(me).

The i-130 was filed online in Jan 2021 and when I use the IOE case number it just says it is being reviewed by USCIS. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find out more info on how long these cases are taking or how I can find out where the file was sent to for processing(which center) etc? I am currently in Canada fwiw.

Look up visa bulletin on state.gov 

Then see what priority date is listed under currently processing immigrant visas. If it’s before your date, you’ll wait a while. Normally take 5-8 years for son/daughter over 21 yo depending on the country.

I-130 processing estimates are posted here -- https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

 

But, as mentioned above, for your visa category, the visa bulletin is much more significant in determining how long your case will take overall -- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin.html

Is that a typo?  Did you mean unmarried?  Is your father a US citizen?

 

F1 (unmarried son/daughter over 21yo of USC) cases getting visa interview now are only those that have I-130 petitions filed back in Dec 2014.

For F2B (unmarried son/daughter over 21yo of LPR) cases, it's Sep 2015.

For F3 (married son/daughter of USC) cases, it's Nov 2008.

Except for Mexico and Philippines, F3 Petitions submitted in December 2008 are just now becoming eligible for visas in May 2023.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

That's the reality of US immigration.  For an F3 visa case with I-130 filed only in Jan 2021, you will have to wait around 14 years or so, until they can get to your case.

Your category is F3.  It will take 15+ years.

 

Good news is that category allows derivatives - that is, you, your spouse and any unmarried children under 21 (google "CSPA calculation") at the time of the interview can immigrate with you under the single I-130 petition filed by your father.
