Question about fees and Rfe

I have just sent my AOS application to my lawyer. My lawyer is going to mail it out tomorrow, so we should beat the fee increase. My question is if we get an RFE for any reason, would that mean that we have to re-apply? And would we then have to pay the higher fees? We needed to get a co-sponsor and had trouble finding one, that is the reason that we have only just sent the completed AOS package back to the lawyer today. Thanks for any information on this.

NO and RFE is just a request for evidence, you will just send them what they are asking for.

You filed for a visa instead of AOS?

Yes, I got the wrong paperwork. I didn't realize I had been filing for a visa to come into the country. I was already here and thought I was applying for AOS. I've posted about my situation before. It's a long story.
