It has been two weeks now since our fiance petition was approved by the USCIS and we received our NOA2. The NVC has no record of our case when I called. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do?

This is normal, USCIS (CSC) tends to hold cases going to NVC a few weeks to build up enough to send a truck load to NVC. It takes some time for the truck to go from southern California to New Hampshire 3000+ miles, believe me I have driven that route a few times.

Give it a week or so more.

Why not just mail them?

You would think they'd have enough money to send them via air mail.

Why not just mail them?

You would think they'd have enough money to send them via air mail.

You are talking about several Tons of paper it is much less expensive to bulk ship by truck than to mail each case.

Eventually they plan on going electronic and just scanning the paper into the system, and just send the scans electronically from USCIS to NVC, and from NVC to the consulates.

It should be on NVC's system any day. Email NVC and ask about it. Mention your USCIS receipt number when you email them. It is possible that they are entering your case information on their computer system, after that they will assign a case number. I think, you are referring to automated message. You should call and talk with an operator and you can also email them.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

My NOA2 was July 2nd, I have been calling them and sent them an email a week ago, still no update or reply back from NVC. I was even asked to call back mid of August. :protest: I also cant believe that they almost doubled the fees, but the service is getting worse. Because of this, I have already prepared all the documents I will be sending them, and all ready to use JSC, but afraid that there will be a lot of changes to take place by July 31st. :protest: This waiting period is gerting on me...honestly, in the amidst of the changes and their application processing, how can you keep your sanity? :dead:

Are you speaking with a live person, and getting a "no record of case" message, or is this the computer telling you. You must get through to speak with a live operator. The I129F's don't stay at NVC long enough to make it into their automated sysem. Only a live person can tell you something definite. Usually calling in the morning, or late in the eveining (they take calls, I think as late as 10pm EST) works best.

Good luck!

See? It was just a matter of time. But I totally understand since it's so hard being patient with this whole process.

AAARRGGHHH get a grip because - it gets worse !!!!! actually waiting for the visa fee bill is a real pain and it goes on and on and on...

Everybody delays you from the NVC to postal service on strike to courier foul ups etc etc

I am hoping for case complete end of next week (despite fedex fouling up) then its on to delays with London and booked up medical centre and then interview lines etc etc...

it goes on forever so please buy my book called 'how to put yourself in a trance and wake up as you leave the customs area in the US'

Until that day you will never be free to relax

Then you receive a green card in the Name of 'A Sample' and that takes 3 months to fix

then you get a perfect one and somebody mugs you and takes your wallet with the GC in it

Hey, I am a half full sort of guy as well !

ps nearly 3 weeks from noa2 to logging on NVC system and yes some do get lost as they blow off the truck on the way from California

So your relief at being finally logged just means you are onto the next set of worries

gin and tonic worked for me

good eh ?

Congrats!

Thanks Diana!

I told myself last night that the next day I will stop calling NVC for few days, so that I won't get frustrated. I don't know what got into me coz I was half awake when I hit the speed dial on my phone. I literally jumped off the bed to get a pen and paper to jot down my case#. After that call, I called my husband in Manila right away!
